UMass will be a good match up for us.    They are not over whelming but Oregon is another story in 2021. Thats more than an uphill battle.   The Ducks are always in the FBS Top 15 and play a high powered style offense.

Oregon we've known about for a while. We're not winning that one. If we lose by less than 5 touchdowns, that's a win in and of itself. They're pulling in top 5 recruiting classes under their current coach.

As for UMass, I'd be surprised if we didn't win that one tbh, though their program is better than you might think. They're not Uconn.

Nope. We still have NDSU and other FCS teams playing Football. Not to mention, all P5 conference are playing football again. I'm good with that!

I'm in agreement. The spring FCS season essentially gives us football year round in some shape or form until early 2022. That said, I don't want spring football to be a permanent thing for the FCS as some have suggested. Doing it as a one-off for this year only is fine to me.

Probably already posted in another thread...

RICHMOND, Va. (September 30, 2020) – CAA Football is making plans to play a six-game conference schedule that includes the option for institutions to add up to two non-conference contests during the Spring 2021 season.

The conference will use a North/South divisional format, with all six league games coming against teams within the division. The team with the best overall conference record will be the conference’s automatic qualifier to the NCAA Football Championship. Should the divisional champions finish with the same record, a tiebreaking policy will be used to determine the automatic qualifier.

Conference play is anticipated to begin on March 6 and conclude on April 17, with each team receiving a bye week during the seven-week timeframe. Institutions are allowed to schedule “non-conference” games against other conference members, but those games would not count towards the conference standings and the outcome would not be used in the tiebreaking procedures. Based on NCAA guidelines, teams are allowed to begin non-conference competition as early as January 23.

I must admit I don't watch much College football outside of Stony Brook FB. I do watch a TON of college basketball outside of SBU-MBB (especially the Big East - St. Johns, SHU, and UConn), actually I watch more Big East basketball than SBU basketball tbh.

But with that said. I was not aware of the potential for FCS Spring Football. I'm very happy today. Thank you guys for filling me in on that great news.

If money is an issue for SB then why not play two FBS schools a year, as Maine does.

They don't want to be embarrassed two times a season. They're going against Oregon this year, which is expected to start the season ranked in the top-7. I'm guessing the o/u will be in the mid to high 50's range, and that's not a joke. I'll probably take that. Remember, Utah State demolished SBU last year, and Air Force the year before. Oregon is in a whole other league compared to those teams.

I'd take the Over as well.  SB usually embarrasses themselves playing teams in the Northeast conference anyways, so when not play 2 FBS teams and be paid for the punishment!!
