Sam Kamara got promoted off the Browns' practice squad during Week 18 and had 7 tackles vs the Bengals. Hope he sticks around for their playoff roster.
SB already has a World Series champion. Would be nice to also have a Super Bowl champ.

I am back people. Was I missed? lol.

I lost my love for SBU basketball and won't be posting anything on the forum, so some of you should be relieved. But I have a lot to say about football.

I attended the Meet the Coach night last Month at SBU, and for the first time in 14 years, I felt positive energy in the room. Now, of course, the young, brand-new coach is going to be full of **** and vinegar and come out swinging, as he should. And that is exactly what Cosh did..

The vision in the room was very different from when the old hag, Priore had. Cosh said he wanted to recruit up, now down. meaning. Find talent in the lower NCAA levels, and not rely on the FBS transfer portal for talent. He is also going to recruit hard locally. Time will tell if that strategy works. It worked for JMU lets see what happens for SBU.

I read that Cosh did get a talented QB out of high school. A 3 star recruit who had multiple FBS offers. Malachi Marshal, from SC. When was the last time that happened here at SBU under Priore? I think a DE from Floyd years back was the last star player to come here from HS.

As we all know. recruiting young star talent is key to success, but also having the staff to make them great talent is something else. Does Cosh have the coaches here to mold these kids into postseason talent? I guess time will tell.

I say we have to give this young coach some time to prove himself. How much time? Well, we all know SBU does not like to admit fault with the bad hiring of coaches and will keep them here for a duration of time with multiple losing seasons. Heilbron admitted that to me at the meeting last Month. He came out and blamed himself for the failures in football. Props to Heilbron for that. But this is a topic for another day.

To be continued.

Welcome back, Hammer. The meet the coach night changed my tune as well. Recruiting has helped too. Looking forward to the season.
