Not to sound like a real downer, but maybe it would be a good thing if SB lost out. Change is good and the time is now to make some changes.

Just heard on Caafb that if we win both games we can still make a case to be entered into the playoffs

And I’ll bet somebody on Caafb is smoking the wacky weed. By at least one measure (Sagarin) there are nine teams in the CAA better than SBU. Delaware is not one of them, so a win over them will be meaningless to the selection committee.

Hello all,

I'm new here but wanted to introduce myself. My name is Dan Steenkamer and I'm glad to be serving as the "Campus Correspondent" Delaware beat writer for HERO Sports FCS. I'm actually a student journalist, so this season has been a really nice opportunity to get hands-on sportswriting experience.

Anyways, I share all this because I thought I'd contribute this link to the thread: https://herosports.com/fcs/football-2019-delaware-seeking-turnaround-stony-brook-scsc. The link takes you right to my Stony Brook/Delaware preview for this week on HEROSports.com (no subscription is necessary to view any HERO Sports FCS coverage). I invite you all to take a look and let me know if I missed anything about the Seawolves! I do my best to study each opponent and its statistics as closely as possible, but no one knows any given team better than that school's fans!

The article may also provide some insight for those who haven't been tracking Delaware all season long.  ;)

Enjoy and have a happy rest of your FCS season,

Dan

Nice article. Quite honestly, I believe SB will just lay down and concede in this game. I dont want to be the only fan to speak the truth around these boards, however. I feel as if SB players have given up and will take this season in stride.

Our defense is not the defense of the past. As you alluded to in your article, we are giving up 'phone book" numbers of yards each game. Our O line, as big as they may appear is just not making holes for our RB to go through. Again, something that is unorthodox of SB ball. our go-to WR is Andersen, he is our only shining light this year and he is good, very good but we need to have others step up to the plate.

Bottom line. Delaware wins by two scores on Saturday.

Absolutely. Can't speak for the rest of the country off the top of my head, but a 7 win CAA team will always at-least be considered for the playoffs. If Villanova can win out they'll be 9-3 and be our quality win to show we deserve playoff inclusion.

As alluded to earlier though, do we really deserve to be in the playoffs? Does this team want that? As long as we can deny UAlbany a playoff bid I'm happy. Coach P needs to go regardless and extending him was a mistake.

it's possible- some might look at the JMU game, as it was high profile and against a top team.

but if we made it- we'd certainly limp in, and i'd expect a first/second round exit.  the CAA is strong enough to really get past most first round games, and we've played a few good games this year, and football is such that injuries, film, and weather make late fall games very different than september games.

Not this year. The CAA has only one team in the top 15 and SBU is in the bottom tier of the conference.

any reason why in the mid 3Q we are 1/4 passing?  and UDel is not far off...

of course, we are running all over them.  but that's still low for a sunny, dry day.

also turner is a NICE surprise.  he reminds me of noel devine, if anyone knows who that is...
