This is bad. A season with no Fall sports. What else is there to do?

No way do I see SBU football chartering a flight to take the entire team and staff to play FAU!!  Think about it--that means chartering a flight to take the entire team and staff to the epicenter of coronavirus madness in SOUTH FLORIDA of all places!!  If the whole controversy is over safety and health, that can't possibly make any sense.

yeah.

will cost us the $400k, but then again, won't have to spend.  so maybe it's a wash.  depending on how you look at lost future income and what we budgeted in.

Not happening. I really wish the NCAA would stop playing head games with conferences, and just cancel  all Fall sports. Stop the BS already. We all know there wont be any sports until next year. At some point..

Conferences are delaying the inevitable. The CAA has cancelled league play, but teams can still schedule as independents, so if we wanted to we could all still play each other, only as independents not officially sanctioned by the league office.

Personally, I think all schools and conferences will wind up cancelling football, with the SEC being the absolute last ones to do so around the middle of next month is my guess.

JMU has announced that the CAA has told all 12 teams that if they wish they can play an independent schedule in the Fall and they plan doing that and will contact the CAA schools to see who’s interested in playing them

That's all well and good, but mark my words. Nobody is playing college football this fall.

Crazy to do that since you mess with the following falls' season. I also don't believe in the slightest Covid will be gone by spring. Fall 2021 is the earliest we'll see college football again, and I doubt we'll see a full NFL season this year even.

College Football Coaches Reflect On Cancelled Seasons, Possibility Of Playing In Spring

The lack of on-field instruction combined with a raging pandemic in New York throughout the spring left Stony Brook coach Chuck Priore feeling that his team was not going to be ready for a fall season. Since the Colonial Athletic Association cancelled fall sports, he can get his team ready for when there is a schedule.

“It was certainly a disappointment telling them there would be no season, but you have to look to the positive part of it,” said Priore, whose Seawolves have been a member of the CAA since 2013. “When I addressed my team and told them that we were not playing, I also looked at it from the perspective that we haven’t really prepared correctly. We lost spring football and a lot of guys are from New York state and they had zero access to gyms and some still have no access to gyms. So the preparation to be successful would have been condensed and certainly risky. They probably would not have played up to their potential.”
