Missing our primary run stopper had a much bigger effect than anyone could have predicted

Definitely!. Kamara was a huge run stopper in the middle, but just to rely on one guy on defense says a lot. Thats like Jamel Warney being the entire team for SB basketball, and he was. Having multiple playmakers is the key to success. Easier said than done, I ge that. But a highly respected coaching staff can go out to find those playmakers and fill the roster.

How many first year starters played on defense last season? I think if you check you will find out there were quite a few

Bob McIntyre was the DC for at least 4 years and prior to last year the defense was pretty good so in my opinion I think it will be much better in 2020

Its kind of sad, that when we all keep on talking about how great the defense is hardly anyone addresses the awesome job Tony Thompson from the special teams side on the punt scheme on punts and FG's blocked and how we generally play a great position game when we have to pin our opponents inside the 20 when we cant make a long FG.

That might change this year as the PK from New Jersey missed his freshman season due to a injury will get his chance to be the starting PK and Kick Offs Angelo Gugliello

Tony is also the recruiter for Nassau, Queens, Staten Island and Brooklyn

I might be late to the party on this but I just noticed that they lost RB Tashaun Brinson to Rutgers. Thats two RB transfers this off season. What was once a deep depth chart at RB is not so deep now. That was a big recruit, cant let that happen. Shouldve had PT last yr.

Chuck redshirts all of his players. I assume Tashawn knew that going in but it’s possible he felt slighted by it and wanted out. He was a 3-star recruit though and possibly the best back we had. Instead he sits him because of his conservative tradition that he always has to keep. I roll my eyes so hard.

Even though Tashawn Brinson was a scholarship player he was 4th on the depth chart so he gave up his scholarship and decided to walk on at Rutgers. There are 2 more RB’s coming in.

He was a 3-star recruit out of HS. JMU offered him! Why was he 4th strong to begin with?

Brinson is a preferred walk on at rutgers witch means he will get state aid and eventually be i line for a scholarship. Anyway you slice it not good for SB.

Brinson lives in NY but went to Paramus Catholic so he doesn’t get state aid
