Crowd doesn't look bad, but doesn't look particularly impressive either. What in the world do we have to do in order to get people to show up for games here??

At the game tonight was the CAA Commissioner can’t remember the last time that happened

I was glad Coach P put all those subs to start the 4th quarter to give them some game experience

Good result though not perfect.  Stout defense gave up few big plays.  And no one could get ground yards in any meaningful numbers against us.  I think we only punted three or four times.  Keep chipping away at the 183 win total. GO SB

PS
The CAA is winning though ua is losing to cmu

First quarter jitters  gave way to solid football .  Dont remember the last time we had the luxury of playing all 3 QBs in one game.

9,652 is the most people we’ve got for a non-homecoming game. Ninth most attended in program history. Sure felt like it to me. We got to keep it up, though.

Fields was so shaky to start. He kept throwing into double coverage and loved short slant routes that barely gained any yards. Once he gained confidence in the deep ball, the offense became more dynamic. Run isn’t as strong as last year, but the defense is as brutal as advertised. Limited Bryant to just a FG and a garbage time TD.

Which as a commuter school is more in line with what I expected and is honestly fantastic. Especially given the opponent. Fact is that weekday games aren't as bad for SBU as they would be for most schools since we have such a large commuter population. Something to think about should the MAC come calling one day.

I think the fact that the stadium was expanded last year and everyone is more spread out now makes the attendance seem like it is less than it is. I really hope we can get 14k out for the JMU game. It's homecoming against what could very well be the #1 team in the country. If that can't get us ATLEAST 14k then lol.

Let's keep in mind that Stony Brook isn't really a commuter school. at least not by definition. It's the largest residential campus in the SUNY system with over 10,000 residents. The challenge is keeping the residents on campus on weekends and engaged in student life

We do have a good number of actual commuters (day students) and we have a good number of students who live close enough to EASILY go home on the weekends. (That is a byproduct of being near NYC and on a densely populated island. Both of those areas are chock full of good students who know an excellent school when they see one.)
That being said, in some ways a Thurs game might pull in more students than a Friday/ Saturday game.  Not saying more fans - just saying maybe more students.
