2019 G1: HOME OPENER VS. BRYANT - THURS 8/29 7PM
« on: August 14, 2019, 02:17:05 pm »
It's been a long wait. But the season is finally around the corner. Looking forward to Home Opener.

I haven't followed much the off-season. How does the team look, boys?

The QB position is dead even between Fields and Cassidy however in my opinion the top QB is Zamot. All the other positions are very deep in talent and will be decided after the last scrimmage

interesting.  from the film i've seen they are sometimes different style QBs.  so perhaps it will depend on what we are running.  or, perhaps we see some benchings because if it's this close, that sometimes happens.

either way a competitive QB logjam is probably a good thing for the team.

Can’t tell if it’s just me, but I’ve noticed so much more promotion for this year’s opener compared to last year. Video ads for the game play on TVs in the dining halls, numerous emails to all the students, posts by the official SBU Instagram accounts... hope they keep it up.

they're finally getting around to this type of blitz campaign (no pun intended?).

crazy eddie had some ideas years ago just like these- we never seem to get the word out, but maybe now it's happening.  i've noticed better coverage on the web too.

SEASON IS HERE BOYS!!

Is everyone signing up for Flo? I was very reluctant to do so, but now I might do it now that the season is here.

It's about time. I always wondered why Stony Brook didn't mandate that the games be promoted in all the TVs in the dining hall... and also all the games should be broadcasted live in every public TV across campus. We need to generate the enthusiasm.

Other steps being taken: the rec center, which normally closes at midnight, is only open till 6 today – and the front door says it’s because the football game is at 7. LaValle is just a 2 minute walk from the rec. I’d love it if they do the same on the Saturdays we have home games too.

110% this. Now that every game will be on Flo, there's really no reason not to do this.
