As far as I know, it wasn’t Shawn’s decision.

Priore’s contract is a sunk cost anyways. Just cut your losses now and do the right thing for the program.

I'm not so sure about that. The AD has the final say when it comes to firing in Athletics

Which is why I hope he has the power to can Priore’s ass after this year.

Heilbron was pressured to extend Priore by Stanley, who promptly bailed on us a year later, at least that’s what I’ve heard.

If Heilbron was pressured by Stanley (which I have doubts about), that’s a red mark against Stanley. Basic Management 101 teaches that you don’t take the hiring/firing decisions from a supposedly senior and trusted member of your leadership team (Heilbron), unless you have serious questions about his/her judgment.

The problem now is money. Where is SH going to find approx 1 million dollars to buy out his remaining contract. He's not. SB doesn't have that type od booster to lay out dough like that. Heck!! SB doesn't even have any Alumn on an NFL who can afford to chip in!!!

Oh he'll surprise us alright! Surprise us by losing the annual cupcake game against Bryant/Wagner/Fordham/Sacred Heart/CCSU/LIU. Speaking of LIU, we have actual competition on LI now with LIU moving to D1 through the campus merger. We can't afford to slip up too badly else they'll surpass us. The thought of that sounds absolutely ridiculous, but if Priore stays at the helm for an extended period of time....

I will give Coach P credit for getting talent into the program. This program has the talent to win the CAA and go on a deep playoff run. Priore just doesn't know how to harness that talent.

And speaking of talent, what the hell happened to Kamara? He's been out for over a month with no update on why.

Even when LIU was dominating in DII their attendance was not that good and to make it worse there’s a ordinance preventing them from putting up lights. One more thing the NEC gives out a lot less scholarships than the CAA

Maybe Priore just needs a better DC and OC.

My guess, and only a guess is Kamara stays out for the last two games and puts in for a medical redshirt. That makes sense considering this season is lost, but it's always a gamble getting approval for medical red shirt with the NCAA..

Most people who comment on this site would love to see Coach P and his staff fired for one reason or another so let’s say we ask the players what they think about the following; has Coach P and his staff prepared you to play each game every week, if you had the opportunity knowing what you know now would you still come to SBU and play for Coach P, in your opinion what do think of the offense and defense play calling, as a student how can we get your fellow students to come to a home game, how much in your opinion has all the injuries played with the season on the brink of not making the playoffs.

The reality is that if Coach P had the ability to take this program to the elite level of FCS football—which fans are right to expect for a high profile university like SBU—it would have happened by now. It’s become clear we have seen the best he can do for this program. It’s time to aim higher.

I could forgive the 2012-16 failures because they had to adjust to the CAA after playing in a cupcake conference. But now? He can’t use that excuse anymore. We’ve seen the potential of this program after he went 10-3 in 2017. Therefore, it’s inexcusable for the team to disappoint this much in 2019 when we should be continuing to improve our stock as an FCS powerhouse. As far as recruiting, it’s telling how many players of his have reached the NFL.

Exactly. I keep hearing how coach P  is a great recruiter. Well, not really! The proof is in the pudding. How many kids were drafted from SB, ZERO? And that wont change.  Really good athletes will shun away from SB and go elsewhere.

I just read on Twitter that the only team to gain 100 yards rushing or more against JMU in 2019 was SBU
