How many former SB players are on active NFL rosters? And how many have been drafted. I think I know the answer, 0. If I am wrong please correct me.

I brought this us because I see a ton of players from all CAA schools that are currently playing in the NFL, not just practice squad players, on active rosters.

Coach P has all the tools and resources to do they same thing except for one, the know how. He doesnt have what it takes to recruit or take a good athlete and turn him into a great athlete with NFL aspirations. Just saying.

Todays little tid bit for the day...

That's a valid point. There are 157 FCS players active on NFL rosters. It's noteworthy that even mighty Wagner College has two.

Many of those 157 players were transfers from FBS schools so its not like they they went to a FCS program first and SBU over the last 4 years have had all 32 NFL teams on campus to see their players. Of the two Wagner players one went there to play Basketball and eventually found his way to the football team. SBU has had players in NFL Camps every year and for different reasons such as injuries they didn’t make it. There are still two players on practice squads and at some point hopefully they will be on the active roster.

In my opinion if we make it to the FCS playoffs for a third straight year is more important then how many players we have in the NFL. Also SBU has a great graduation rate compared to many FCS programs after all isn’t SBU is a top research university not an NFL hotbed.

Sometimes we look for negativity rather then all the positive things

I recall Timon Parris playing for the Redskins and getting playing time. I believe he's still on the roster correct me if I'm wrong, but other than him we don't have anybody else in the league at the moment.

I believe that is right. Parris was /is on the Redskins PS. I dont think all the other SB invites stuck around to make any NFL team PS..

I'm glad the majority of this Form finally sees what i have been saying for quite a while. Coach P  is not a good coach and should not be the head coach for SB anymore. He was good when we were Div 2 and 3, but he does not have the tangibles to be a good HC for a Div 1 coach in the CAA or any other stronger FCS conference. I think he can be okay in the Patriot league or the North East conference, but that's all.

SH made a big mistake extending coach P contract for another 3 years. We are stuck with him. like Campi alluded to, Coach P not going anywhere for a few more years at least, and he knows it!!

The AD misjudged Priore with the contract extension. This program has achieved its ceiling under the current regime. Barring making it at least to the national semifinals (HIGHLY unlikely), I expect Priore to go the way of Nagle at the end of his contract.

Tye was the only player to have any success.  He had 94 NFL catches in his brief career.

Screw the end of the contract. We don’t have time to wait that long. Priore needs to go after this season. Missing the playoffs after two straight years, AFTER GETTING RID OF A MEDIOCRE QUARTERBACK, should be a fireable offense.

Im guessing Sam Kamara did not play again on Saturday? Do we have an injury update, assuming that is what it is.

Who's going to come up with the Half a million Dollars+++, to pay out his existing contract? SH made a booboo extending coach P contract and the University and fans are stuck with him for 2 more years after this season is over. Grin and bear it! I dont see SH giving coach P a new contract after this one expires..

Actually I think the contract runs through the 2022 season.

As far as assistant coaches go each one has different lengths in terms of years

Thats possible. I thought his contract was extended for 3 more years, but he might have had another year left with his old contract. regardless, he's not going anywhere for a very long time. A total mistake by Shawn Heilbron. He should have never given P a long term extension. Year to year is all they should get. Win your conference or go deep into the Playoffs, then yes, lock him in..
