JMU's new coach was Elon's previous head coach. He said he wouldn't go after any recruits currently committed to Elon, so instead he's trying to come after our recruits. Very dirty move. We should do the same to them. JMU is a regional university that does little in the way of research. SBU is a nationally ranked research powerhouse and is a member of the AAU. We run circles around them academically. That should matter to Brinson whose commitment was due in large part to our academics. He had interest from Ivy League schools.

I have no doubt there are academically inclined recruits who are looking at JMU, who would look our way if we really sold SBU's academic reputation to them. Academically, we're a Big Ten school in the FCS, that's a very compelling story.

Interesting that Stony Brook is listing Aidan Kaler as an H-back rather than a linebacker.

I want to add that I'm very intrigued by Cal Redman. I think we may have a steal there. I bet some bigger programs probably wanted to see him play TE rather than QB this fall, and were sleeping.

A really nice day for our TE and H-Back positions between him and Kaler.

Hoffmann on Angelo Guglielmello, going to Stony Brook: "He's another guy that you just don't replace. It seems like he's been here forever. We have a very unique relationship, we're very close. Angelo is very workmanslike. Very business-like. He never gets too high, never gets too low. I love the kid as a human being. Being the best kicker St. Joe's has ever had is just icing on the cake. He left a legacy here and whoever is next in line can't worry about being the one that is replacing Angelo, but think about what kind of legacy they're going to have."

Guglielmello became New Jersey's all-time leading scorer for a kicker, with 253 total points, and kicked a state-leading 14 field goals on 18 attempts in 2018, with a long of 46. He connected on 36-of-27 extra points and averaged 55.6 yards on kickoffs, recording 31 touchbacks. In the state final, Guglielmello hit two field goals and an extra point, which gave him the state record.
There are 29,413,039 corporations in America; but only one Chairman of the Board.

We got him!

Back off JMU!!! Fantastic! He'll be great for us. Think we'll redshirt him? We have White back for next year assuming he can get his grades back up, and we've got Pickett as well, but I'm not sure either will be as good as this guy. Having quality depth would be a huge help.

What I'm hearing is that they offered many players however only 9 were ready to sign today the others still have the offer but they run the risk that SBU could find someone better between now and 02/06/19 the next signing day.

Brinson decided he wasn't signing at this time that's when JMU offered but SBU hasn't given up on him signing on 02/06

There were other players that SBU has on their radar but haven't offered them as of now

Once Reese committed Waxter de-committed because of the competition factor and Reese was a much rated higher athlete.

Another thing Jordan Jackson the Freeport DB was a track Star that developed into an All-Long Island Player and has a huge upside

From what I'm hearing SBU will probably bring in another half dozen or so scholarship players and another half dozen or so preferred walk-ons

One other player that has committed, but didn't sign, is WR/Athlete Kordell Jackson.  Does anyone know his story?

I'm assuming he's a preferred walk-on. Probably signed a non-binding financial aid agreement.

Yes Kordell Jsckson is a preferred walk-on and he will be joined by at least another half a dozen or more and the only way you hear about them is when the player posts it on twitter.

I think he tried to pull him because Elon had offered him originally but Brinson went elsewhere. It would explain how he knows him, how he has a relationship with him, and why he tried.

Regardless, I'm very proud to see SBU's star rise high enough that we're winning recruiting wars against JMU. Keep the local talent home!
