Hard to out-recruit any P5 school, let alone Michigan. Let's see how this goes though. At that level P5 schools do a lot of bait and switch recruiting tactics with players since there are so many players who would love to play for a blue blood like Michigan.

Was he offered by Michigan or just invited.

Just invited as far as I can tell.

All 6 commitments that have given SBU their verbal commit will sign in December according to the coaches who recruited them. Know one on the SBU staff is concerned about any of these players signing elsewhere.

Is there a quality QB in one of these commitments?

I know Fields is going to be SB next QB to start, but something telling me he is not much better passer than Carbone. Hard to say with certainty because of the limited role. I would like to see what Freshman Zamot has under the hood.

Maybe with all the talented players being recruited lately, SB can find a high caliber QB for the next 4 years..

Isas Waxter II visited Syracuse yesterday as well. Sounds like to me he is being offered by the big boys. Could be a flight risk.

Fields is more athletic though. Hopefully him using his legs will keep defenses honest and open up more throwing lanes.

Possibly yes. It's hard to keep a play committed to an FCS school once Michigan, Syracuse, etc. come calling.

This may be a bye week for SBU however all of the coaches are on the road from Maine all the way down to Florida and every state in between recruiting

Awesome. I really hope they can find a true, dual option QB who has all that tangibles this team needs to take SB to the top of the CAA, next year and every year there after.

I know many of you are hoping that SBU brings in a QB either as a freshmen or a transfer however I don't see that happening as right now we have 4 coming back Fields, Cassidy, Sanchez and Zamot so unless at least one of these 4 leave I don't see another one being brought in.

The transfers that I see them going after are OL/DL/LB

Campi, sadly but true. Can you shed some light on this very old subject. What is going on with SB not finding a decent QB since Essington.  What chatter have you been hearing in regards to this problem?

I can only speculate and say this. SB is no secret as being a ground and pound team so one would think that if you are a decent pocket passer, SB is the last place you want to go play at, right??? Maybe I am missing something else. Why cant they bring in a talented grad transfer or any transfer?

I think you're all pushing the panic button a little prematurely.  Everything I've seen and read about SBU's two current freshmen QBs has been very positive.  Their HS credentials are stellar, and I think they deserve a shot at proving themselves at the D-1 level. before we right them off.  I think Zamot and Sanchez may be the real deal!
