100 Yards with Stony Brook Head Coach Priore

Coach Priore had some interesting comments like they were prepared correctly and give little credit to Air Force. Air Force beat SB down, plain and simple. Its the same basic 101 offence you learn in Pop Warner football with little energy on the team. You cannot loose 38-0 and say the way I look at it it was 21 nothing game. No it was a 38 to nothing game! Time to move on, we have a great opportunity with what is going on with the university and need a real coach now regardless of our record this year.

I actually rewatched the game early this morning today. I find it better to see things you originally missed. With that said, I still believe coach P is making all the calls. A very high percentage of the offensive play calling was up the gut with Liotine, gaining virtually no yards.

SB Offensive line is huge, NFL type size but was unable to move the D line all day. Size is not everything in Football. AF line is all sub 300, but athletic.

SB Defensive line did well consider they were out on the field for the majority of the game.

Carbone is brutal. Majority of his throws were the classic Carbone style. High and over the head exposing the receivers ribs. If he continues to do that all season, these poor kids are going to get seriously hurt.

Coach P does not know how to prepare his athletes. I contribute that to his stubbornness to change and allow someone else to make a change. Or he just does not have the know how to turn good athletes into a great athlete. Hence the 0 football players in the NFL from SB

Bryant is not going to be  a cupcake. If the game is close or  we lose and go 0-2 on this young season we are in trouble.

And if SB loses against Bryant then I would rather see this team go winless, for obvious reasons!

If we lose to Bryant, we might as well shut the whole thing down, fire Coach P, play the young guys to see what talent we've got in the program, and start interviewing new hires. That's by far the easiest game on the schedule. Fordham is on the road and won't be a gimmie given the intrastate dynamic.

Will Tye played in the NFL.  He has something like 100 catches as a TE.  Just cut by the Patriots in part because of injuries.

Didn’t see the game.  It sounds like the team wasn’t prepared to play or was intimidated by the surroundings.  That’s on the coach.

Campi said coach P will be around next year. The team loves him from top to bottom. ( Not so sure about that part ). And I think Campi is correct about coach P sticking around. Sad but possibly true..

If there was a push to keep Coach P regardless of how this season turns out, why not extend his contract during the off-season? Why jeopardize your recruiting by adding in that uncertainty if you know for sure you're keeping coach P? For these reasons I don't believe Coach P returning is a given. Coach P is a great man, so I can see why people like him there, but the on the field results have to improve in order for him to stay. This season matters. I say seven wins to stay, or six if one of those wins is @JMU.

In the FBS though, we'd be getting the talent to compete with those teams.

but that's an assumption; what if it doesnt happen?

we already struggle to get a decent QB these days.  going 2-10 is gonna help that?

umass is the cautionary tale.  buffalo to an extent too.  and they have recruiting advantages over SB, i think.

i dunno how much the attention the most minor of bowl games gets, considering half the teams go to bowl games.
I have to agree. The only reason colleges have teams is to boost the overall student and faculty experience. SB will never be in a P5 conference, so I don't think any Toilet Bowl they might play in at the FBS level will be an attraction for students and faculty. On the other hand, if they are consistently an FCS playoff team...

Redskins have already had several injuries this year. Not saying it's a given he'll be called up at some point, but it's not totally out of the question either. Gives me at least one reason to follow the Redskins. Cursed team otherwise  ;D

I just looked at the Redskins injured/reserve list and they have 2 guards on that list. Parris is a Tackle. Not sure if one more guard goes down will they, can they use Parris to make the switch over to that posistion.
