Remember starting this December HS players now have 1 or 2 week window when they can officially sign rather then waiting to February when it's the next time they can sign

We just got another great commitment yesterday when Calique Cato-Jacobs CB Erasmus Hall gave his verbal. Tony Thompson does a great job recruiting Brooklyn/Staten Island/Nassau County for SBU

Solid pickup- looks like he had a number of FBS offers.

Future looking bright for us- there's gonna be a lot of opportunity on defense next year.

I just spoke to the SBU Recruiting Coordinator and he told me that they expect to sign 10-13 players during the early signing period 12/20-12/22 and that they hope to have a total class ranking higher than the 20th last year after the 2nd signing period which takes place starting the first Wednesday in February.

Just today Jaylin Stover a really good DB out of Washington DC committed

As far as Long Island players the SBU Coaches have visited at least a dozen players as of now the status if any will come here we will have to wait and see. The one player I want them to get is Danny Carroll of Sachem East who was the lineman of the year in Suffolk County and the top defensive player in Suffolk County it's my understanding that we have a real good shot of getting him.

Campi. What is your opinion of this new early signing? I like it. I think it could actually start to level the playing field with better recruits signing with FCS school. Athletes, who have multiple offers dont like to be sitting in the dark waiting for their top pick to come calling only to be over look becasue of a last minute recruit signing ahead.. By signing early, they are guaranteed to be in a school of their choice instead of being overlooked

The new signing period will be and already has been a boon for the G5 and FCS schools who can now get guys who before would have been waiting on power conference offers to maybe materialize at the last minute. I hope we have a nice day tomorrow, then another one in February.

Another thing I look at when SB signs an athlete is if he or she are getting  multiple offers.. For example.. Carbone had 0 offers coming out of high school... That should be a red flag.. I know it is not easy pulling athletes away from bigger schools, but in order to be competitive, you must

Agreed but it can be difficult to find out how many offers kids have, and some kids aren't always truthful about what schools are recruiting them. With football recruits, I like to see the highlights more than anything else.
