missed an opportunity to have a mid-october 75' degree game... cant really plan for this stuff.

in other news.  UNH is blowing up towson late.  first place elon has trouble with last place URI.  and two tight games at half with maine/albany and richmond/delaware.

is anyone else infuriated by the fact that espn doesnt livelink team schedules anymore for FCS???

no dispute that JMU is the best of the bunch (giving up about 6 points a game this year), however, all wins have been at the bottom of the CAA, and their next few are against UNH, richmond, and elon.  chance they lose 1, maybe even 2?  only elon is away.

even elon has played the bottom half (except for maybe richmond) and now has nova, JMU, and UNH.  its possibly they can lose at least 1-2 of those i suppose.

we have the opposite- richmond, albany, and maine.  could stumble at all three.

the delaware loss is looking less-bad.  they could win out.

ESPN has slowly reduced its coverage of FCS to a bare minimum. I'm surprised that I can still access the live scores on ESPN app. It sucks but it's expected when there are so many tiers of FB. Power 5 rule the sport

Thanks Chair. Just what we needed. Stats basically bought the old "The Sports Network" which covered FCS. I'm glad we still have a site devoted to FCS Football.

The Article puts Villanova in the playoffs which is a dubious at best prediction. Assuming you need at least 7 wins to get in, they'd need to win three of their last four games and they still have Elon, Richmond, and Delaware on the schedule. All of which are at home though. I don't think they get in.

As for us, we avoid JMU and Elon this year which are the two best teams in conference. We have the quality loss to FBS #14 USF as a resume booster and the Delaware loss doesn't look bad at all given how well they're playing now. Win out, and we may be looking at a first round bye. Lose one and I think we're solidly in and host a first round game against an auto-bid from the Big South, Patriot, or NEC who we should crush. Which game to lose though is what makes things a bit dicey. I'd say this Richmond game coming up is the biggest one since we need another quality win on the schedule. That's what we lack. If we beat Richmond, I think we can lose either of the Albany or Maine games and still be ok. Drop the Richmond game, and we MUST win out in order to get a spot. 7-4 has us sitting at home this year in favor of an FCS blue blood like Montana, or potentially a 6-5 team from the MVFC. 7-4 most years would get us in, but not this year.

Beat Richmond, and I think we lock up a playoff spot. This bye week couldn't have come at a better time for our team. If we're good enough to beat Richmond, we're definitely good enough to beat the rest of the teams we play in conference. I'd also hope for a flukely loss by JMU and/or Elon to get us a share of the conference title or possibly win it outright. I think a 3-4 way tie for the conference title is technically still possible.

I like to think that if we win 2/4 we should be in the playoffs. Why not? 7-4 in the CAA should do it. Obviously 8-3 would remove all doubts

The road starts @Richmond. This game is yyuuuge!

Is Elon really the 2nd best team in the conference? We will find out the last four games of the season. Their schedule is pretty back-loaded with UNH/NOVA/JMU to close the season.

Anyway. I agree that the game against Richmond is big. But please don't even suggest dropping a game to Albany at home. That's a rivalry. We need to beat them EVERY year. lol

Winning 2 out of the next 4 would be treading water. SB wouldn’t qualify for the playoffs now (not even ranked) and won’t qualify if 7-4. They need 8 wins.

Win  3 of the last 4 and we are in . That's an 8-3  record anything less than that and we go home until September 2018. It starts with Richmond a team we destroyed  last year.
