One more time... this time with Josh Caray’s radio call synced with the Hail Mary play. Thanks Brook.land

Great call, and thanks for posting.  So much better with sound;  the Charlie Chaplin version doesn't do it justice.
How old a Seawolf am I? I followed them during their Final 4 DIII hoops run in 1977-78 (they were called the Patriots then)

Good afternoon,  I would like to congratulate SBU Football team for a successful win on Saturday.  The team deserves to be in the playoffs.  I am going to address two individuals  Chrissy D and IBoshu I understand you are pro coach P, but Coach P doesn't need to be fired he needs to retire. I am not a hater of anyone , but the way he coaches is ridiculous.  He runs the same 3 to 6 plays over and over and most the time it gets  the offense nowhere.  The defense have to be on the field longer than they should because of poor play calling.  He never thanks his defense player for all their effort.  Please don't say " he might thank them behind closed doors " I know personally that he don't.  Just like on Senior Day he didn't come and shake the senior or parents hands or say congrats .Coach P has no respect for the young men on defense and  some on offense he has to much animosity towards some, and favoritism towards others.   It took defense to keep Maine from scoring for 2 quarters.  We were truly blessed to win that game on Saturday.  Chrissy D  as far as the alumni giving props to coach P that his only your word, because I sat next to a couple of Alumni's and they were very disappointed in Coach P play calling.  He has a play book why don't he use it.  We can not go into the play offs with those same plays that each team is aware of, they shut us down each time. Your opinion that people are hating on coach P is not true, they are not hating on him they are hating on the way he make play calls.  So far as you accusing people of wearing or drinking hater juice, you seem to be drinking kiss butt juice pretty well, because if you are looking at the same games everyone else is looking at you would notice that he runs the same plays over and over, and it doesn't work.  IBosbu you need to decide what side of the fence you are going to play because one minute you are also a part of the hater juice crowd.  You can come back at me anyway you want but I am always prepared to take it because I can also dish it.  Coaching takes a lot of effort true. The players didn't protest because they wanted a chance at the playoffs, the players wanted it more than the coaches.  Chrissy D since you so Pro Coach P why don't you and the alumni tell him to please have a game plan this Saturday because the Lehigh Hawks are putting on the board 20 or better, and they coming to knock SB off.  See if you can do that instead of trying to down the fans that want it for the players even if coach P don't.

Chrissy D.

Hey bro, justconcern or whatever your handle is. Lets be clear I am pro SB football team. I have no relationship with ciach P or any other coaches. When a team is 9-2 and headed to the playoffs and still every comment is about getting rid of the coach, then yes those are hater comments. If u are really a fan of the team then u take the good with the bad. If u want to question play calling be my guest but when people make ridiculous statements like the coaches dont want to win or they dont game plan then I have to question your knowledge of sports. Another point wich someone else brought up was that there is a lot more involved in a college program than calling plays. Graduation rate, recruiting, individual position coaching, no off the field problems, etc. Again you guys make statements as if this coach has done something too you. It seems like there are personal vendettas against him just like someone else posted. I thought NYstateofmind put it best when he said that guys who played dont get crazy in their fandom because they know what goes into playing college sports. This is not little league. As far kissing ass goes I dont talk to one single coach but I do know that I dont act like a jackass at the game or on a college sports thread. And another thing if someone wants to make comments on both sides of the fence thats his perogative. Who are u to tell him he cant. So ypu can try to be a keyboard tough guy all you want but we all know you must be compensating for something. And yes  haterade is for guys like you.

Chrissy. I cant find coach P's contract out on the web- but I did go to the D1 Football coaches salaries to see what I could. I know Coach P's last contract is for a guaranteed for this year is $329K and in the "Bonus" section he can earn up another $56,000 (guaranteed).

I remember there was bonus money for amount of wins, winning the CAA etc and maybe even one in there for making the playoffs so maybe you or others may have that old contract language.

So for any of the "haters" who states the coaches somehow want to lose games, when there are $$$ on the backend for W's etc...  just defies taking seriously.

Someone mentioned that I need to decide a side.. sorry to inform that I am an anonymous die hard Stony Brook fan who graduated in 2006 and I don’t need to or care to play by some anonymous haters rules.

I thought I make myself clear. I criticize coaches because I am passionate about results, but I don’t hate on them, unlike some of you. Especially in a year we are 9-2 and in playoffs. I give them credit when it is due. And this year Coach P and staff deserve the credit. If we lose to Lehigh, sure I will criticize preparations, strategies, and play calls… but at the same time, I will acknowledge what they have done in the big picture… 9-2… and look forward to a better 2018!

I used criticize Coach Pikiell’s end game strategies and calls all the time, especially in close games, but at the same time respected him. He is one of the best thing that has happened to SB basketball.

There is a difference between criticizing and hating.. if you don’t know the difference… I can’t help you.

First things first you say that Chuck never over ride his OC and he lets him call the play's either your not wacthing the same game that we are or you guys don't know a damm thing about football for the 4years that I've been following this team ive seen those same play's over and over what's so crazy is you can predict the play before he calls it. For the last 4years you had 2 OC and we still keep running the same play's i would say if you had two OC in past 4years and you run the same high school play's and this is collage someone should be fired wouldn't you agree you guys want to sit up here and give Chuck all this credit like he really knows about coaching a reality check that DEFENSE that Chuck does not RESPECT is truly the reason why SB is 9-2 truth be told

I think most would agree after reviewing his complete body of work at SB, Coach P’s future as HC should be on a year-to-year basis. Even if football wins the national championship this year, I wouldn’t extend him for more than a year at a time.

Totally agreed.  But I don't think that is going to be the case next year. I have a feeling SH signs coach P with a 3 year extension or new contract.
