Coach P said that the players voted for next years captains and the reason there are 5 instead of the normal 4 was there was a tie so he took all 5

This kid has just committed and looks like he could be the real deal for the Seawolves;  he was Westchester/Putnam Counties Player of the Year, and could possibly make an impact right from the get-go.

With Jordan Gowins coming in, Ben Holmes as a promising JUCO QB recruit and a couple of good OL already committed, things are looking up for next season.  Would like to see another really good WR to take the pressure off Bolden, and someone to fill Ochi's big shoes.

too bad, we were hoping to see him in CA and wave the SB football banner.  but you are right the Shrine Game is more prestigious.  now he has to get some playing time.

This Post is supposed to be about recruiting only I will start a one about Victor Ochi and other pro news

SBU is having a harder time trying to convince the Long Island Players to stay home and walk-on so far they have 1 Nassau HS Player that's a Scholarship Kid and closing in on 2 more. As far as Suffolk they have only 1 walk-on thus far. It seems that many more Kids are looking upstate or out of state.

I asked a few of their Coaches to rate the prospects so far and they are very happy with the class so far and don't forget all of those freshmen from last year that redshirted from a very strong class have a year under their belt with the Coaches.

It sounds like Tyrek Graham is still listening to scholarship offers from other teams, and might change his mind before signing day. Good news is he's been offered by UVA and Iowa State, so he sounds like a pretty elite recruit if we do get him.

If Graham rescind his offer that will fall completely on coach P, and his ability to recruit better athletes will be in question. Regardless, Coach P needs to step down, ASAP. I spoked to Heilbron yesterday at the MBB and he said the additional seats in the North end zone will be def happen but wont be completed before the start of the season. He also said there will be new concession stands as well. We shall see!!!!

I know that both the LB Coach and the Defensive Coordinator have gone to visit him and are in touch with him daily but remember it's one thing to out recruit a FCS school and that's not the issue it's does this player want to be a big fish in a little pond or a little fish in a big pond what they should be selling is how Victor Ochi went from an un-recruited athlete to a potential draft choice.

Another note is that Lyle Hemphill the SBU DC was named the FCS DC of the year

I will keep in touch with the SBU coaches I know to see how the situation plays out with Graham

I just spoke to some people up at SBU and Graham is a hard commit and the interest from the DI schools were the same schools before he committed to SBU so they would be shocked if he didn't come here

The top HS school player from LI for 2016 Elijah Riley looks like he's going to Villanova

Based on info I'm getting for 2017 players there are only about 6 players who have DI potential at this time

The dead period is now over so now it's a sprint to the finish line to get recruits to commit to the SBU Program so expect about 15-30 players to be visiting the campus over the next 3 weeks.

A very good Long island Player committed to SBU today his name is Augie Contressa from Commack HS 6'1 200 Safety/OLB who I think could be a steal as he has a ton of upside potential and has started on both sides of the ball since he was a sophomore

glad to hear that Auggie committed to SBU. I sat next to his dad at the Albany game, and he was really encouraging his son to attend SBU.
