I spoke with one of the coaching staff after the Spring game, and this person indicated that the staff still had some scholarships available for the 2014 season, and that they would be out on the road recruiting.  in particular it was mentioned that they were looking for another WR.

is this kid Nix a 2013 HS grad, or is he a 2014 grad?  if he is a 2013 grad, what did he do for football in Fall 2013?

great, he must be a late scholarship offer kid.  at 6'4", he  would go a long way towards replacing Malcom Eugene.  our current crop of WRs are on the short side.

Shawn Heilbron joined Oregon State University as Senior Associate Athletic Director of Development in July 2011. He provides direction and leadership to the OSU Athletics development program, which includes fundraising efforts for all capital projects, scholarship endowment, annual giving and planned gifts as well as special events and the Varsity O student-athlete alumni program. As part of a commitment to create stronger relationships with supporters and provide an increased focus on philanthropic giving, he led the strategic initiative resulting in the evolution of the annual giving program, which was renamed Our Beaver Nation in December 2012.

Heilbron arrived at Oregon State after serving as Associate Athletic Director for Development at UCLA for five years. From 1999 to 2006, Heilbron was a member of the athletics staff at SMU where he managed all fundraising, marketing and sales efforts as Associate Athletic Director for External Relations. In 2006, he secured a leadership gift of $5 million for the Crum Basketball Center, a state-of-the- art practice facility. Raymond Jones is running some very fast times on the track right now. According the NYmilesplit he has the third fastest 100 meter time in new york so far this season. I know Priore likes to redshirt freshman, but I think Jones can contribute right away.

I agree on Jones, he has the body to play right now. I would hope that SB starts using some freshman in certain ways ( special teams ). You don't want to keep using starters on special teams if you don't have to. Remember last yr we lost starting CB Rueben Johnson on a punt return. They have the depth now so I would like to see them use it. This is how freshman get there feet wet. As far as Jones and Carlock go this yr, I think they can play on specials and in the rotation.

I have seen Carlock play at the high school level.  He reads  plays well and is crazy fast for a big kid . Hopefully he gets his shot  right away.

Priore lands another FBS transfer. Looks like a huge grab for defense/special teams. 3 years of eligibility is great too.
