I agree sbugold. Tye wasn't target nearly enough for most of the season. The last few games the coaches starting using him more, too late in the season though.  I did voice my concern about that in the early games but got a lot of slack for barking at the coaches.... I think the coaches will not be making that mistake again next season !

Raymond Jones of Roosevelt HS has committed to SB. He is 6'3" 225 and runs on the 4x100 relay team. He totaled a L.I. best 20 sacks this year as a DE/LB. Also recent commit Jake Carlock of Babylon won the Rob Burnett award as the top defensive player in Suffolk and won the Tom Cassesse award for the top defensive back in the county. He finished this season with 6 int's ( 2 pick sixes ) and had 16 career int's. On offense he recorded 51 rec  931 yds & 18 td's ( also had 2 PR , 2 INT'S, 1 KR ) for a total of 23 td's. According to Carlock he will play DB for the Brook ( 6'3" 200 ). Also recruit Malik Pierre from Sachem North won the Joe Cipp Jr. award as the top RB in Suffolk. Pierre finishes his career 3rd all time at Sachem in rushing yds 2,718 and td's 35. He totaled over 3,000 yds all purpose as well. Both Carlock and Pierre won LIC'S and Jones was a Nassau champ losing to Carlock in the LIC. So Jones and Carlock in and Pierre still waiting for offer.

Rumor is that D'Amato is going to receiver for next season, and SB is looking at bringing in a n FBS bounce back to bolster QB position.

I hope if this is true he doesn't sit on the bench until his senior year.

I heard that SB is interested in a FBS QB kid that may be looking to drop down to FCS and join the Seawolves.

Sounds good to me. I am looking forward to all the new recruits and transfers coming in for 2014.. Our biggest priority this year is finding a solid Q either a Freshman I prefer, or someone with big time experience, an FBS transfer works for me !

I would be shocked if D'Amato gets moved to WR. He was #2 on the depth chart all season.  He was moved to WR at end of season merely because the position was decimated by injury, as was the DB position, and the team just needed an athlete there for a little depth (much like Connor Davis was moved to DE for the last game).  The fact that D'Amato was moved there is an indication of his athleticism and his willingness to do anything for his team and his teammates.  He will be a sophomore next season.  I think that the players like him and would like to see him at QB.  He has been with the program for 2 years now, he knows Coach P's system inside and out.  He was a heckuva QB in high school.  He deserves a shot.
The QB position is a natural leadership position.  Not sure the right thing to do is to bring in some FBS transfer, who may arrive here with baggage (discipline or attitude problem; or perhaps wasn't as skilled as the FBS team who recruited him originally thought) doesn't know the system, doesn't know the players, and most importantly, they don't know him.  Chemistry matters, most especially at the important QB position.  If D'Amato proves he can do it, we will have a starting QB for the next three years.

CTWolfie,,,,, you make a valid point about bringing an FBS transfer in from another school. There's a reason why a FBS athlete wants/is moving down to the FCS level. Disciplinary reasons, attitude, or maybe he just wants to play more football, either way, I prefer to have a Freshman or Sophomore recruited from one of our local schools on LI to take over the leadership job. We really haven't seen enough of D'Amato to say for certain if he is without a doubt is our starting Q for next year.... Priore will have to see who comes in the Juco/transfer department this off season !!

I think Priore is going to have a much more talented team in 2014 and beyond because he saw how difficult the CAA was and will make the appropriate  adjustments needed to compete in this league...

I'm just telling you what I heard.  as for FBS transfers: Wil Tye.  what more can I say.  there are lots of FBS kids that have good attitudes, and good leadership, but just aren't getting a chance to play at the FBS level.  rather than ride the pine for 4-5 years, they drop down to FCS and get an immediate shot at playing time.  besides Tye, we have Coker and Level that can be impactful on offense last year, and these guys joined SB after dropping down from FBS schools.

There  is risk with any incoming recruit. Mike Coulter  came in from Syracuse played QB even with a bad knee that ended  his career in his senior year. Now he is in Med School. So who knows you can get a bad apple right out of high school from LI which already happened last May.  It is a risk for  any program.

Here in MACLand, Stacey Bedell announced via tweets he's leaving UMass. I wouldn't doubt it if he makes a homecoming move to SBU. They are also losing their #2 QB Mike Wegzyn though it sounds like he'd prefer another FBS team.

After reading a little on QB Mike Wegzyn he is not that good.. I hope priore passes on this kid. I could see him playing for a lower FCS school but not SB..  Stacey Bedell, RB, on the other hand looks like a stud but, I think we are overloaded in the RB position for next year with Coker returning !!!...

Thanks for the update Recovering Hillbilly.... It's nice to have information first before the breaking news !!!

If you are SB you don't pass on Stacey Bedell no matter how many RB's you have.  Getting him to come home would be a huge win for the program.
