2-3 years ago Coach P had assembled a truly impressive staff of young, up and coming assistant coaches. They were a good group. Guys like Hatch, Woods, Goff, Santucci to name a few. These guys were great guys, great teachers and great coaches. They were all positive guys and good motivators. And, they related well to the players. Sadly, they have all moved on. I don't think we should underestimate the impact of this loss.
I mention this because having been to all 3 games this year, there just seems to be something missing on the "intangible" side. The team just seems to be missing something in terms of attitude/drive to win. I don't know how to describe it. They just don't seem to present as a team that carries a lot of confidence, a killer instinct, a winning mentality. Maybe that is difficult after an 0-2 start, but even in the season opener vs Bryant they didn't seemed to come out uninspired.
One other thing: I loved seeing Kenner get into the action Saturday night. He may be the best back we have. It is clear now he isn't being redshirted. I hope he gets more consistent playing time the rest of the season. Despite the fumble on the last series Saturday night, I thought he ran the ball extremely well, as he usually does. He always manages to get positive yardage. He wastes no time getting into the hole and up field. I have been disappointed that we haven't seen more of him before now.
