Myles Campell, WR, no longer on roster, would have been a senior.

Dumb move but  the University and  our athletics department handled it quickly and correctly.  Sign another RB and move on.

How nice would it be if Miguel signs with the Giants. That would be a dream come true... I also would think Miguel would make many visit s to SB and cheer his old team on. Cool !!!!!

Good point Hammer. He seems truly grateful for having been at Stony Brook.

Hammer, thanks again for attending the scrimmage today and providing your observations.  very informative.  a couple of questions for you:

did any of the other QBs get reps in the scrimmage?  were Negron and Bednarski the two main QBs in  the scrimmage?  what did you think of Wil Tye?

I had heard through the grapevine that Negron was getting 70-80% of the snaps at QB during the past two weeks in practice.  if that is the case, then I would not be too surprised that Bednarski is rusty with his acccuracy.  from my experience, QB accuracy has to do a lot with taking lots of reps and being sharp.  accuracy is a lot about 'feel', so if you are not getting reps in practice, its hard to turn it on in a scrimmage.  anyway, like you say, we have several more weeks of spring ball to go, I would expect Bednarski to get better and better as he gets more reps.

BFF. I would say Negron did get the majority of the snaps and if the season would to start tomorrow, then Negron would most likely be our starter. He has a strong arm and throws with accuracy and does very well in the pocket..... Wil Tye is a beast and he will DEFINITELY help us out on offense, a real fun to watch. When he gets the ball at takes 2 or more defensive players to take him down.. he reminds me of Cocker when he runs, a  Bull !!!!! # 27 Kedar Hunter, RB  made some runs and looks real nice as well. I got the impression from miguell he like this guy a lot so lets keep an eye on him !!

Next Saturday I'll try and make the next scrimmage and see who elso looks good and I'll give an update..

Jimmy Walker is still in HS. I believe he will be a preffered walk on this year so do not expect to hear anything from him for a couple of years. He most likely will be a redshirt. Also losing Myles Campbell doe not hurt anything. The WR position needs to be upgraded after losing Norrel and Gush, none of the holdover wr contributed last year. Coxsen was not impressive at all. Malcom Eugene has a chance to play but I am friends with his HS coach and he said he was a better defensive back when he had him at John Glenn. Look out for RS freshman Nick Wagner from John Glenn, he is the Wes Welker slot type reciever and from all indications he will be in the mix this fall. That was inside word I got from his HS coach a couple of months ago.

I guess Stony brook will only be playing 11 games this year.. Too bad SB and SHSU could not come to an agreement, shame....Here is the schedule for the CAA conference !

The date is still up on the schedule and hasnt been removed. So maybe a mystery guest will appear soon.   You are right though Sam Houston would have been a nice matchup for a home and away series.
