Please excuse my typos, between spell checker, my fat finger, and typing on an iPhone while flying, it's pretty bad.

They have had many issues this year and QB is one of them. Negron just has not gotten it done. I didn't say that Otranto would start, all I said was from inside word is that the coaches really like his gm. As far as the other QB's go you would have to look at it as an even race at this point cause nobody has any exp. at SB. We don't know what happens in an off season, guy's transfer, get hurt, or academically don't get it done. They could turn around tomorrow and find some stud from somewhere and this convo is a mute point. Just trying to give some insight as to what we have on the roster now and what the staff thinks about them. But again I have to disagree the QB position was a huge ? coming into the season and it remains one at this point. I can't see why anyone of us would not want to see what D'Amato or Hernandez has at this point, cause there is really nothing to lose.

I think its easy to blame negron for the woes of this team.  football is a team effort, probably like no other sport.  sure, he threw a pick near the goal line yesterday, but our D gave up a huge TD pass, we had multiple penalties in key moments, and our receivers stunk it up yesterday.  combined, we played bad, and still had a close game.  but, the QB takes the hit, and the criticism.  part of the job description.  I would say that negron's play this season has been average at best.  our O line has been inconsistent, as evidenced by yesterday's first and second halves.  How can negron get sacked -on a one step drop and throw?  because the O line does not do its job.  we saw that a couple of times yesterday, and its been plauging us all season.

I am very disappointed in our O line too... As big and as experience they are,  they really aren't giving Negron time to throw and room for our RB to run..I think Dokes is mediocre at best considering where he came from ....  Yesterday was a perfect example of that. In the first half Our O stunk the place up and Negron and our running game did nothing. Then Priore must have scared the poop out of them at half time because our line starting making some holes for Kenner to run through and Negron had a little more time to make some plays.. Winning is a group effort and all positions must play well if you want  to be successful...

Stat wise they out played Maine; but making the big play when needed has been there biggest problem all year.

Lyle still stare down his primary receiver & doesn't go through his progression on reading 2 & 3rd receivers. There was a couple of plays that he had TE & Receivers wide open down the field.

The reason Stony Brook had more consistent drives in the 2nd half is that they went to a 3 TE set; having an additional big body on the line helped to establish the run &  gave other options in the passing game. When you see 8  D men in the box you should adjust to a quick slant or post; 1 miss tackle & your tacking it in for TD.

Maine had 8 to 9 men on the line all day; we should of made better adjustments in the 1st half. I seen Hernandez QB play he has a quick release & has good field awareness; I am looking forward to seeing him in a game.

I thought that was the best coaching adjustment i seen all year in the 2nd half from the Offence.

Defense had a great game; they still make to many crazy penalty.

Penalties have been killing us for a while.  Mainly, when we take a false start or hold on first down, we shell up, run a few draws, and punt.

Something I just don't have an answer for is the lack of big plays on all sides of the ball.  We don't see a break away runs, defensive TD's, 50+ yd pass plays, etc.  Last year, it seemed like every game we saw 3 or 4.  Granted the competition was much weaker, but the only big plays I can remember during this season were a TD pass against Bryant and a pick-6 against Colgate.  Add in Negrons run to open the season and thats basically it.

This year, "good" is just not good enough.  I know we've been spoiled, as there are plenty of teams wishing they were 3-5 (Grambling for example...), but at this point I just want wins against Richmond and Albany.
