excerpt of TSN on the game and tiebreaker rules:

Quote
Big South: No. 6 Stony Brook (8-1, 5-0) will secure the Big South's automatic bid to the FCS playoffs by winning at Liberty (4-5, 3-1). Liberty, though, has won 17 straight home conference games, and a Flames upset could lead to a three-way tie for the title with those two teams and Coastal Carolina. It happened in 2010, and once again Coastal would secure the auto bid. The Chanticleers would win on the fourth tiebreaker - road conference wins. They would be 3-0 compared to Stony Brook and Liberty at 2-1 each ... Not to be overlooked in running back Miguel Maysonet's huge season for Stony Brook is quarterback Kyle Essington holding a large lead in passing efficiency in the FCS with a 194.18 rating (Harvard's Colton Chapple is second at 170.11) ... Also nationally, sophomore linebackers Tanner Burch of Gardner-Webb and Quinn Backus of Coastal Carolina rank third and ninth, respectively, in tackles per game.

Quote
The #6 Stony Brook Seawolves (9-1, 5-0 Big South) look to finish their 2nd consecutive season at 6-0 in the Big South, and once again capture the conference's auto-bid into the FCS playoffs. The only team standing in their way are the Liberty Flames (4-5, 3-1). Kickoff in Lynchburg on Saturday is scheduled for 3:30.

I read today that the Flames average 17K per game and if they hit that vs the Brook they will go over 100K for the year.  That is impressive.  Also, the first 12000 fans this week will be getting thunder sticks so I'm sure the place will be rocking.

I was wondering why is it that no one praises the great quarterback that we have... Kyle is the man!

This guy should get way more attention than what he gets nationally

Some fans may remember- last year Coulter was the man and had a season-ender in like week 3.  Essington steps in and the team arguably gets BETTER.  What if Coulter had lets say returned this year?  We may never have known how good Essington is!

not arguably. IMO Kyle is a better QB than Coulter. Coulter was great and it sucks the way he career ended but ever since Kyle stepped in our passing game has improved dramatically. He is a great QB but I still question why he doesn't get much credit.

I agree since Essington took over the passing gm has been outstanding. He is really a key to this teams success. When you watch him in person you can see what a good ball he throws. That's how football goes, one guy goes down and the next guy steps up. Wally Pip anyone!!!

I said arguably because, according to Priore, he was the better QB at the time.  That's all.   ;D

Chrissy that's exactly what's happening in the void Gush left this year- and to a certain extent, it's what Maysonet is doing for the departed Jackolski!  :D

Essington has been outstanding. Heck the guy has only two games as a starting quarterback. My only knock against him is that the two games he has lost were pretty rough days at the office. 9 of 29 passing with an interception against Sam Houston and 4 for 19 with 2 interceptions against Syracuse. If he completes 50-60% of his passes in those two games he's probably an undefeated quarterback.

I know- ive actually worried about that all year.  And then the next year i think we lose our ENTIRE linebacker unit.  On the brighter side, our DL has some great young talent that should be our strength in the upcoming years.

Our OL is kinda young which is good.  And i think our secondary is a mix of JR/SR, so that will create gaps in the next 14 months!

I shouldve mentioned that Priore has mastered the national JuCo circuit- so id expect him to do so in the future.

And not for nothing, but we are improving as a program.  The younger recruits are getting better; the players are getting better; the program is getting better.  We will be able to reload and fill gaps- unlike even 5 years ago.  GO SB

We have alot of talent in this program, and alot of talent coming in. Sure it will be tough to replace guys like Maysonette, Norrel , Essington. But the great thing about Priore's offense is that it seems that you can plug in guys and still have success. Our off line is still young, and our starting linebackers are coming back. I was hard on Coker early on but he seems to have rounded into form. Cheeseboro will help fill the void of Reyes and we have a bunch of young returning def lineman, Hauter, Ochi, Russ, and Simpson has one more year. Priore seems to know were here can go and fill a need whether it is a transfer or juco. Final note on Essington and the  Syracuse gm, not his best but dropped passes on 3rd down and dropped TD didn't help.
