2012 Season Home Opener
Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium
Stony Brook vs. Central Connecticut State

Hello Everyone! Football season is less than 21 days away and the excitement is building up. As we all know, our season starts at home against the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils. Another reason to celebrate, is that this will mark our second season with our own fan message-board thanks to sbufan (a.k.a oceandogs). In the past year we have built a small but close community here at the SBUFan message-board and I hope this year brings us a lot of more followers.

Game I will be the ten year celebration of the opening of LaValle Stadium and we should expect to see some members of the 2002 football team. Lets hype the game up and hope that there is a sellout crowd to cheer on our Seawolves. See ya September 1st.

Start the talk!!!

Can't wait for the season to begin, 1st time season ticket holder, plus traveling to syracuse and army. CCSU have also have a solid program, played against them the 4 years i was at SB. This should be a solid game and a good test for us.

Chris D and I did season tix for this season too.  The Brook actually screwed us. Purchased 4x tix down low in the seats a few months back and they called me last week and said my tix were double booked.  They ended up giving chairbacks upstairs and season tix for lax so it is all good but typical old school Stony Brook screw up.

We actually did the Army tix through Stony Brook with the pre game tailgate so if any of you guys are going that could be a good place for a little SB Fans meet up.

Was at the scrimmage yesterday.  Kevin Norrell made a sweet catch in the end zone during work with the two-minute offense.  Also saw a camera crew there.  Saw a tweet saying it was the YES Network doing something on Stony Brook football.  Shout out to my man for doing good things

Official pregame release: http://www.goseawolves.org/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/082712aaa.html

Quote
Preseason Rankings: Coming off the most successful season in school history, Stony Brook is ranked in every major Football Championship Subdivision poll.  Phil Steele's College Football Preview (9), Athlon College Football (16), College Sporting News (16), Sports Network (17) and Lindy's College Football (24).

10th Anniversary of Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium: In honor of the 10th anniversary of Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium, the Department of Athletics will unveil a Moment of the Year for each of the six home games.  The first moment is Chad King's 94-yard kick return for a touchdown against St. John's on the first play of the game to open the new stadium.  King, who also recorded a 67-yard punt return for a TD and an interception, told Newsday after the game that it was a "once-in-a-lifetime feeling."  The New Jersey native led the Seawolves to a 34-9 win over the Red Storm as Stony Brook went 8-2 in 2002.

I was there for Chad King's opening kick return for 6.  Fans were crazy.  Never seen student presence like that before.

We opened the stadium with a touchdown, and here we are 52 games later, with a 38-14 record at LaValle.  GO SB!!!

Let the predictions begin! Stony Brook 42, CConn 26. The game is actually more of a blowout, but Priore rests some of his starters.

Out of respect for CCSU  I think we dont pile it up too much. Their  AD is a  former SBU  member of our athletic dept but it wont be a nail biter thats for sure. I say Wolfie  wins 38-7.
