With President Stanley going will the AD follow him

The day will come, but not quite yet. I expect Heilbron to go, but not until a fairly decent job out west opens up.

What I find funny is that out of all the major coaches, AD, President, etc., Priore is the only one to not get poached by a higher profile school yet  ;D.

Do you really think a " high profile" school wants him as their coach??? Priore is ok at best in the FCS, In the FBS, not so!!!

I see no reason why SH would leave SB just because Stanley is now gone. However, SB needs to be careful about who they bring on board. If the new President has little to no interest in D1 sports, SH gone and so is SB athletics..

The committee needs to find a new President who has experience. Not some new assistant to an assistant Dean or Vice President of some small school out West. Bring in some veteran who has what it takes to grow an existing institution in academics, research and of course, for us, sports... This new President has very large shoes to fill. President Stanley did many good things for this school in so many ways. The trajectory must continue upwards, not idle. We don't need any lame Duck President whowill  do nothing for this University.

Maybe Spallina?  He's probably the best coach SB has ever had in any sport.

In defense of Priore, his team rose to the competition when SB football went to the CAA.  They've made the playoffs the last two years, even with a mediocre QB (a situation Hammertime has rightly criticized). Is he getting better?

No one is going to poach Priore. His record has been average, especially in light of SBU being a major public research university. From what I've seen, he doesn't have the personal "presence" on the field or off that's expected for a higher profile program.

SB has only been a D1 school in all sports since about 2002.  Increased funding is an even more recent phenomenon.  Priore pretty much built the football program and it is a pretty decent FCS program.  They play in the CAA, a better league than AE, which every other SB team plays in.

Not sure about the personality thing.  Nick Saban doesn't exactly have a riveting personality.  He's just a damn good coach, though.

SBU needs to find a "next level" President successor to Stanley.  Someone with credibility and experience to continue SBU's ascent - similar to the Fiore -> Heilbron move athletically.  Stanley was very pro-sports, and this needs to continue, as sports success adds to the marketability and branding of the university at large.  Any reversal of the sports momentum would be a huge mistake, IMO, but I'm sure everyone at SBU is fully aware of this by now.

Regarding Priore, I've never been a big fan of his game coaching skills.  Too conservative, strange play calls  in pivotal situations, poor use of timeouts, etc.   However, in fairness, he's had pretty solid success in the premier FCS conference in the country.  Like him or not, you have to show him some love for that.  And he recruited well over the years.  Sort of similar history to Pikiell in basketball - not the best field general, but solid recruiter with solid overall success.
How old a Seawolf am I? I followed them during their Final 4 DIII hoops run in 1977-78 (they were called the Patriots then)

would like a sports-focused president, as it's a driver for other things at the U.

another item for the wish list- a president that is committed to improving campus life.  fix that, and a lot of other things will fall into place.
There are 29,413,039 corporations in America; but only one Chairman of the Board.

At one time SBU had a Teaching Program which if they were to bring back would allow for a bigger recruiting base because I love the Medical Profession but I believe more athletes would come here for Teaching

Take a look at Elon success in a few short years in the CAA. Coach P could only wish.  I betcha SB gets there doors blown off again against Utah State this year. 45-6. and ELON holds their own again FBS Wake Forest..

I doubt Elon holds their own against Wake. Hemphill, who we probably should have hired as head coach is now the DC at Wake Forest. Expect him to get an FBS head coach gig soon. Hemphill still is one of the best defensive minds around. That man could coach defense. I bet even he manages to hold Clemson's offense to a relatively low point total in their game this year.

VA seawolf, I like Hemphill to and SB screwed up by not making him the HC, but we are talking about Clemson here. Trevor Lawrence will probably go down as Clemson best QB ever. He is going to shred WF defense and this game is going to be a blowout.

I know a bunch of SB football recruits played in the Boomer Empire game this past Friday. Do we know, or is there any film on how they performed? How did Shawn Harris Jr. do at RB.

I was on the LI sidelines and Shawn Harris is a WR and looked very good.
Keith Winfrey played DE, Aidan Kaler played ILB, Jordan Jackson played CB, Vincenzo played OT, Javonie Duran played DE and they all played really well.

Also the SBU CB Coach Rich Reichert’s Dad was the LI HC and that was his final HS Game of Coaching after leading the St. Anthony’s Football Program.
