FYI: I checked a couple of days ago re: the status of SBU BB alumni re: their shots at sticking with an NFL team this coming season.  Here's what I was able to find out:

The following players are apparently no longer affiliated with any NFL teams:  V. Ochi, R. Bolden, C. Davis, S. Bedell.  It seems a shame in many of the cases.   :(

The following players remain attached to NFL teams in some capacity, and hopeful   still have some chance of hanging on:  W. Tye (Patriots), C. Cooper (Colts), T. Parris (Redskins), T. Beverette (Bengals).  GO SEAWOLVES!!  8)

Not SBU related specifically, but beginning in fall 2019 JMU will offer full cost of attendance scholarships in all of its sports. FCoA allows schools to give athletes stipends that in theory are supposed to cover miscellaneous costs like travel, school supplies, and things of that nature, but usually wind up boiling down to essentially pocket money for the students. I've seen numbers between 2-6k per year per athlete thrown around at several schools.

JMU I believe is the first school in the CAA to do this, and now that they're doing it, other CAA schools will likely match it in order to remain competitive. JMU has their eyes on the FBS, but as long as they're here, this will give them yet another leg up over us on the recruiting front.

It looks like yesterday was just a bad day all around for SBU football.  Neither Tyrice Beverette (Bengals) nor Timon Parris (Redskins) made the 53-man team cut with their respective teams.  They'll both be eligible for the practice squads if the teams decide they want them.  Will Tye (Patriots) was placed on IR, and was not claimed by any other team.  It's unclear what will happen next with Will.

So, unfortunately, at this juncture there are no Seawolves alumni on NFL active rosters.

anyone see this stat-

AFA- ran 85 plays (77 rushes)

SBU- ran 50 plays (30 rushes)

very lopsided, even given the AFA triple option...

When your offense is anemic this is what happens and is honestly what I expected to happen if we weren't able to move the ball and control the clock. The defense did well given they were on the field the whole game.

Rhode Island will be ranked next week and this win IMO cements the CAA as the best conference in the FCS this year. They usual teams that are active bye weeks (Elon and URI) are good now, meaning nobody is safe in this conference anymore. Reminds me of the SEC 3-4 years ago when almost every team was ranked at one point or another.

Stony Brook favored by 23.5 versus Bryant.

I don't think we cover that spread. Historically we play Bryant close even though we should blow them out. I predict we win, but only by 10-14 points. Hopefully I'm wrong, we blow them out, and look good doing it.

We'll be in for a run up the middle every play type of game given the weather conditions. Hopefully we have enough of a size advantage this year that doing so every play doesn't pose a problem.
