Prospects Showcase Skills in College All-Star Games

East-West Shrine Game

University of Oregon quarterback Vernon Adams led the West squad to a 29-9 victory over the East in the annual East-West Shrine Game at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. Florida's Brian Poole took an interception off Western Kentucky's Brandon Doughty 98 yards for a score to give the East at 9-0 lead. Adams then threw three touchdown passes to three different receivers including a 93-yard strike to Purdue wide receiver Danny Anthrop.

For the East squad, defensive end Victor Ochi jumped off the screen as he routinely beat whoever was in at left tackle for the West right off the snap. He recorded a sack and an impressive chase and tackle on Adams as he showed relentlessness. Florida linebacker Anthony Harrell also picked off a Doughty pass, and was involved in Poole's interception.

Raiders visited SB football practices at least twice last season, and I'd assume they are very interested in Ochi.

Awesome. Anyone care to guess how likely it is Ochi gets drafted, and if so, what round?

I'm pretty confident he will get drafted now after the amazing press he has gotten at the Shrine Game. My guess is 5th to 7th round but I wouldn't be surprised if he works out well than he could sneak into the 4th round. Pass rushers are a premium in this league. I will be elated if he gets drafted at all as this will be a boon for this program as well as Long Island football in general.

His best fit in the NFL will be as a 3-4 OLB- as a Jets fan, I'd love to have an explosive edge rusher like him on 3rd down. The rest of his game needs developing (coverage, etc) but he's got the tools to succeed.

I truly hope he gets  drafted. He deserves it and it only helps our program overall. Best of luck to him .

Initially, I was thinking 7th round, and most probably would be signed as an undrafted FA.  but not any more.  I think 5 round is quite possible.  not sure how many other guys there are out there for edge pass rushing.

sounds a bit like what the ny football giants did with kiwanuka- a bona fide DL from boston college, eventually found himself on the edge rushing, mostly on 3rds and standing.

6,5 and 312 on the O line is what we need . This is a good pick up and his academic background looks great.

Yes, we need a big time playmaker on the O line and this kid will help. I am not overly excited though about this kid being the next Big Mike after watching his videos from High School. He's very slow off the line and has horrible speed, however. He is big and strong and should def help with holding back pass rushers. Still a great find by coach P, finally!!!!!!!
