NYstateofmind, your comments are great ones.  our coaches just don't want to run those types of routes with our receivers.  I think our TE patterns have been very successful, we have a few big gainers this season, but they don't run those enough.  for more on TE pass routes, maybe DDMD can add some clarity. Overall, I don't think its the receivers running the wrong routes, its the limited number of routes that the receivers run, and that is not the QB fault, rather the play calling.  how many times can they run that short route to Boulden?  over and over, right?  I am sure the team would love to run more sophisticated double move routes, or whatever, but then it comes back to the play calling.  and we need pass protection to run deeper routes.

Couldn't agree more Bigfan....They do not run effective plays. The QB can get rid of the ball in 2 secounds if they call the right play. Why not go to a read offence; when they stack the line & blitz they should use a quick post or slant......

They should use double TE sets it give you so many more effective pass plays; why is there not a full back. SBU was real effective using a full back in the past; helps w extra blocker in the back field or coming of the line & block  LB to open up a seam.

How many time do you see twins or tripps; not much. I do not like pulling the OT to block on the opposite side run; it leave the edge wide open for the LB or DE to come in on a back side tackle.....which hapens alot.

We need to stay w a starter & only use the back up on designed option plays......

ugh tye just dropped a touchdown off the fingertips...

next play he dropped a pass that was a miscommunication, he likely didnt stick to the route and the pass was thrown away from him.

Maysonet was cut from the Bills practice squad on November 3rd. I missed it.

Wil Tye had a very nice game on sunday.  two huge catches (3 for 70 yards total), and some nice commentary from the talking heads about how athletic he is.  too bad the Giants lost.

Quote
He wasn’t yet sure what he would do with the ball. Perhaps give it to his mother, he said. Or keep it for himself.

Out in the 631, there’s probably a trophy case that would be willing to accept it.

When told of Tirico’s call, Tye joked that he can no longer visit Stony Brook.

“Well, there it is, I just set off another frenzy,” he said. “I can’t go there now. I’m not going to be able to leave.”

At some point, he will.

“That’s good,” Tye said of the publicity he is giving his school. “I can go back there and show that you can do anything. I’m glad I could represent them.”

So awesome especially on Monday night football. It's really great that Tye is playing for the Giants. He's created a lot of media exposure for the program.

This was great for him the Giants and our program .   A really nice recruiting tool and it puts  SBU  on the map a little more.

so nice to hear him say he likes the fact that this publicity helps Stony Brook.  Negron and Bednarski helped put him on the map with two big seasons at The Brook.

What a great feeling that must be for them.
