As Yogi used to say, "It's deja vu all over again!"  The Giants last night mirrored the Seawolves from saturday night almost exactly--started out like they're all but unbeatable, then let one blown play take all the mojo away from you for the rest of the game!!! >:( >:( >:( >:(

Yeah, I really didn't want to go down that route with comparison to us because I am finished with talking about last week game but yes, that strip play from Donnel  took the wind out of the Offense.. Maybe Will Tye will take Donnel place as the starter? Nah, not yet but if keeps playing good ball he will be a starter next year. Maybe not with the Giants but on another NFL team!

yep, I was alluding to the same.

anyway.  after the donnell strip, the giants got the ball back, and it was subtle but tye made a really nice seal block from a tight right, pulled over to the left side and sealed in the will to open the outside for Jennings on a delay.  Jennings got tackled at the LOS, but still, nice backside seal block.

Just curious. Not sure how contracts works work with the NFL but. If Will Tye turns out to be an asset to the Giants could they sign him to a new contract for next season? It is my understanding when you are drafted out of college you are locked into a team for 3 years, but as a free agent coming off the PS, you are free to leave at the end of the season????? Who cares to shine some light on this... I have very high expectations for Tye and hope  millions are in his future. I am sure SB hopes $$$$$ are in his future, too!!

If he comes back and makes the roster next year he would get the veteran minimum, which would be $525K next season.   He gets $435K this season that is pro-rated to how many games he is on the active roster.  Free agents usually don't get multi year contracts until they prove themselves.

If you notice this kid Ben do spread O; they  do not use TE at all in any of there O plays.  If they go this direction then there will be majoy changes in this team on the OL.

You need TE in the CAA; this kid like to run with the ball & in the CAA the speed of the game much quicker.

He could be damage goods real quick if he does. They already have Carbone who is the same type of QB; i was hoping they would find a kid with a great arm n touch who could plays in pro set.

It would give them options at the QB position.

I wouldn't worry much about who Ben is throwing to in Juco. That would completely change in SB, I hope.. Much depends on the head coach and everything is up in the air right now.

In the CAA you need a Q who can do it all and not one dimensional. He needs to have all his weapons available, too.. He needs to have his TE, WR, RB who can catch in the back field.. Coach P hardly ever uses his RB as receivers and that's a huge problem..

Just look how successful JMU is this season because of Vad Lee. He can throw and if no one is open has the ability to run for big yards. This is the style of play in the CAA these days

I think bringing in Ben is a smart move to keep Carbone on his toes..

Long Island produces some good quality FCS Quarterbacks, but for some reason they don't want to play for SB.. Sayville Varsity Football quarterback, Jack Coan, is a top recruit and has many Div1 offers. I am not sure how hard SB coaches are out trying to get this kid but if I were coach P I would set up camp in front of Coan house to try and recruit him!!!!

This article was written in the Summer,  before the start of this Football season. He is having another record breaking year.

nothing new on Miguel, but more coverage: http://sbstatesman.com/2015/10/19/maysonet-signed-to-bills-practice-squad/

Quote
Kevin Norrell, a former Seawolves wide receiver, also spent time with the Bills in 2013 before being released by the team.

“It’s honestly just a true testament of hard work and staying with it,” Norrell said. “He just worked his tail off and knew someone was going to call. All he had to do was be ready.”

Norrell acknowledged that it may not have been easy for Maysonet to go for over a year without being on a team, but that there is always a goal to work toward.

“Like Miguel just did,” Norrell said. “It’s just work, work, work, work, work and when you get your opportunity, you have to make it pay off.”

A little about Tye from the Cowboys: http://www.dallascowboys.com/news/2015/10/21/scouts-eye-looking-beyond-obvious-names-giants-rematch

Under the Radar: Will Tye, TE
This is an interesting player with a unique skillset. He won’t be like the typical tight ends that the defense has faced during the year. He is really built like a big running back with wide receiver-type hands.
Tye move all over the formation for the Giants – he plays inline, flexed and out of the backfield. He shows initial quickness and a burst off the line. He won’t wow you with fancy moves or smoothness, but he will adjust his routes to put himself in position to receive the ball. Works well in space. Good change of direction and balance. Has the ability to find openings in the secondary. Is always on the move.
Whomever in the secondary draws the assignment of carrying Tye, he will be all over the field. This guy is not the best blocker at the point of attack, but they use him like he is. If you follow him, you will usually be around the ball. You have to be especially ready when he lines up on one side of the formations and goes the opposite direction of the flow.
He’s dangerous when they use him in boots or waggles, and Eli Manning is not afraid to throw him the ball. Has the ability to finish and like Shane Vereen, he needs to be accounted for.

True review on Tye; his blocking skilss at times a very weak. His strength is in the short passing game; over all field speed average. He could also be used as a big full back.
