Remember Tye transfered from Florida State to SBU; great exposure for the school. Tye technique in pass route was already crafted at Florida he needed to learn how to block as a  TE.

It looked like he is coming along in learning that skill; on a couple plays he missing blocks.

It's a huge opportunity for him w the Giants; long term he needs to be a 2 down or 3 down TE to stay in the NFL.

I do agree Tye was crafted at FSU, but he hardly played in a game in the 2 years he was down there. Most of his playing time came from SB.. But i have to think Tye already had his skills when he got to SB.. Another reason why we need to clean house with most of our coaching staff and start fresh. Lets bring in some senior coaches with some big school experience to teach our recruits some new skills they otherwise would not be getting now. Until that happens SB will be mediocre at best in the CAA for years to come.. I've been preaching this Gospel for years now!!!!!

This is best of times  for him with the injuries the Giants have he can shine in many places.  He played a good game last night significant improvement over his opening start.

Tye and the Seawolves are definitely now on the map.  I'm hoping that the likely return of Cunningham Monday night does not end up relegating Tye back to an insignificant role.

I was thinking the same thing. Tye was brought in as a backup TE to Daniel fells. Not sure how he will be used in the rotation, but i do see him being used more often now because he is also considered  a Half back!!!

Maybe Will Tye has focused renewed attention on SBU football from the pros!!  Buffalo Bills have picked up Miguel Maysonet  8) 8) 8) 8) 8)  It's only on the practice squad for now, but hopefully there's more to come!!

Looks like Will Tye may have solidified his security with the Giants after last week's performance.  The Giants have now waived Jerome Cunningham, who just returned from injury and was previously ahead of Tye on the depth chart.

great news!

and more on maysonet: http://www.riverheadlocal.com/2015/10/17/after-moving-on-to-pursue-a-career-as-a-cop-miguel-maysonet-is-back-in-the-nfl-blue-waves-star-signs-with-bills/

Quote
After ‘moving on’ to pursue a career as a cop, Miguel Maysonet is back in the NFL: Blue Waves star signs with Bills

“He was working on a farm, lugging around 50-pound bags of potatoes and then going to the gym after work,” close family friend Tim Hubbard said. “He took the police test so it seemed like he was going to focus on becoming a police officer.”

But he still kept in shape just in case. And everything changed in an instant on Thursday.

Maysonet received a text from the Buffalo Bills. They asked whether he was interested in joining their practice squad as they’ve had a number of running backs go down with an injury.

“I remember him telling me that when he worked out for the New York Jets that Rex Ryan really liked him but couldn’t keep him because they had other needs,” Hubbard said. “I guess he kept his name in the back of his head.”

Maysonet instantly accepted their offer. He flew out as soon as he could. Upon arrival they had him do sprints and after showing that he was still in great shape, they had him sign on the dotted line.

The Bills will be playing in London next week and Maysonet will be joining them.

wow.  a text from the Bills and youre in the UK on tv.

first few plays of the giants game- twice tye was wide open, two catches (15, 10).  i think both got first downs.  with YAC.

Then the Giants stopped targeting him. I know Tye is listed as a backup but he should really be a starter...

yeah that first drive was some of the best execution ive seen in football... then donnell caught a pass, got stripped, and the whole game turned around.  I couldn't figure out why they totally changed the game plan after the first drive.  they started running Jennings right up the middle and stuffed nearly every time.

im just joe blow here at the keyboard- and the giants are 4 of 5 in super bowls in the last 30 years.  but for the life of me I cannot figure out why they don't go for 8 yards on a 3rd and 7.  I get why the run so many draw plays, because in the gun, it fits into their offense and sets up the pass.  but those literally never work either.  used to see it more when gilbride was in town.
