interesting read

“We obviously like to play one FBS game a year because it’s an excellent way to supplement our revenue,” Charles King, JMU’s Senior Vice President of administration and finance, said. “Those games average low $300,000’s to the one we just played at SMU where we got $425,000. Typically what we found was the FBS schools that we want to play, are in the $[325,000] to $375,000 range. You got to play a non-conference schedule.”

BTW: Stony Brook got paid $325,000 for the non-game in Toledo

I am happy SB didnt get the shaft from Toledo, but if they want to start making more $ like JMU makes we need to have a winning season year after year. One win or one lose doesn't make a season, but I did get a chance to watch the WM/SB game on SNY reruns and we just looked awful out on the field. The only player who looked good was Cheesboro. Our Offense, Defense looked like scared PAL kids..

I am expecting a total annihilation on saturday from JMU but our schedule gets easier there after and if we win out, there is a chance we can make the post season and salvage our year, just a chance!!!!!

Wasn't sure where to post this, but:

http://www.giants.com/news-and-blogs/article-1/Giants-sign-TE-Will-Tye-to-active-roster-release-DT-Kenrick-Ellis/47956598-3d93-4570-80a0-2284c83cc63f

The injury situation being as it is, I'd say he has a better than even chance of seeing some action tomorrow.  Sure hope he makes the most of it!!

Brutal drop by Tye helping to stop Giants drive.  Ugh.  He needs to make a play.

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Former Stony Brook tight end Will Tye made history on Sunday afternoon when he became the first Seawolves product to appear in a game in the National Football League. Tye was signed to the New York Giants’ active roster off of the franchise's practice squad on Saturday.

Tye made his debut in the first quarter and was in on multiple plays. He was also the target of Giants' QB Eli Manning on a passing play in the second quarter.

The Middletown, Conn., native played in 23 games for head coach Chuck Priore and the Seawolves. Tye pulled down 79 catches for 1,015 yards and nine touchdowns in his two seasons at Stony Brook. He also returned 30 punts for 166 yards during his career with the Seawolves.

first half of the giants game- tye has three receptions, and the last one was a decent one (18 yards).  3 targets, 3 catches, 44 yards.  good start!!!

He also did some decent blocking, and even got some good words from color commentator Chris Collingsworth.  Maybe he's found his niche.

he did late in the game yes... and on the three catches, the first and third collinsworth mentioned SBU.  good stuff.

of course, donnell caught the late go-ahead TD, but still, the Jints run multiple TEs so there's plenty of room at the table!

Big Time game for Tye.  four catches for 49 yards.  Collingsworth said near the end of the game that he was really impressed with Tye, played multiple positions in the game including fullback, and caught some passes.  hopefully the future is bright for Wil.

Remember Tye transfered from Florida State to SBU; great exposure for the school. Tye technique in pass route was already crafted at Florida he needed to learn how to block as a  TE.

It looked like he is coming along in learning that skill; on a couple plays he missing blocks.

It's a huge opportunity for him w the Giants; long term he needs to be a 2 down or 3 down TE to stay in the NFL.
