When you judge a college football program on how many players they have in the NFL with how well they recruit HS players coming into their program each year you also have to look at the other FCS programs HS recruits that end up in the NFL and for the most part SBU has the same results the difference is how many Transfers from FBS programs end up in the NFL after they transfer say from an Alabama to a JMU or an Ohio State to a North Dakota State.
Every year many 5, 4, 3 Star players commit to the top programs only to find that their never going to play so they transfer to an FCS College and get an opportunity to play these are for the most part the players who go to the College All Star Games and end up getting drafted.
In my opinion SBU tries to recruit the best HS players every year and they are bringing in more solid transfers every year
