all good points. I was sitting with the Nolans after the Spring Game and asked them why they chose SB especially all the way from GA. I did not know this but their son had two offers from SEC schools and three others.

They said their son wanted to be a chemical molecular engineer and SBU had a very good one and the others did not. They said on one home visit the SEC HEAD COACH asked him why he did not to play for a national Championship contention for the next four years. They said their told him "Coach I am focused not on the next 40 years just not the next four". They said he is graduating with honors in May.

They also said that Coach TT was the second reason (and Coach P) had not even contacted him after his visit  (which should also tell us something). And yes, I understand to might be a budgeting issue- but not even a phone call afterwards from the HC?

Its kind of a shame that we don't highlight these kids during the Season- and only focus on the new kids coming in as to why these choose SB. Granted the new kids are important in the marketing of the program- but one would think to ask the upperclassman (not just the Captains) why they chose SB. So while the coaching staff might need an upgrade, the marketing "staff" could use one as well.

Excellent insight. I did not know that. Goes to show that academics are just as strong of a recruiting tool as being good on the field. This coaching staff has dropped the ball in many ways over the years if they're really not calling recruits after they committed. The one in a blue moon 10 win season like last year makes it too easy to gloss over the failures the coaching staff has made prior. Don't forget we couldn't crack five wins for four seasons prior and that it took a team chock full of super super seniors (6th year guys) to do it.
