The bad news:  Will Tye was cut by the Giants on Saturday.

The good news:  Tye was claimed off waivers today by the Jets!!

Dont have to go very far. Just change uniforms and locker number..

Jets? Yikes lol. I knew Will would land on his feet right away if he got released though.

Brilliant idea. I love it!!!

Shame it's Towson next week though. Not that I'd want our schedule to be any tougher, but if it were say, reigning national champion JMU coming to campus next weekend, I'm sure the game would definitely get a shout-out or be highlighted. JMU had their perfect storm when they got Gameday there a couple years ago. No big top 25 matchups that weekend and they had Richmond at home in what was a top 10 FCS matchup.

More positive  exposure  for SBU .  The expanded stadium looks real good and had fans out there watching the game.

A negative note for SBU Athletics is that I heard last night that SBU is going to have a 6% budget cut across all sports programs that could that could be in place for the next two years

Hopefully with the cash we received from USF 450k (minus the cash we paid SH and then Wagner which I think is 190k) and then next years cash payment for AF (anyone know what the contract is) we might be OK but let's get more in the stands. And yes Good for Carbone

Can you say where you heard this from? I know SBU was cutting some academic programs. I'm guessing this is coming from the state? I'm not sure I buy that this would only be for two years. If our budget is roughly 30M for athletics, then we can expect a 1.8M cut roughly. I think we should just drop Men's soccer (easiest sport to drop), and then maybe add another buy game against a P5 school?? Rutgers, Syracuse, or certainly someone in the SEC probably has an open date somewhere. If we did those things we'd be fine.

My son just told me his 2 friends, Tom and Tim Kutchma, twin brothers from Ward Melville committed to SB. Tom is a beast on offense and Tim can play both O and D line.. They draw big crowds at Ward Melville games and I expect the same thing will happen when they start at SB.. Tailgating just got better for us, Congrats boys!!!

Those are some big boys and fantastic commits for our program! Love it when we get great local talent too. The game is won on the line.

They were very impressive in the game against Connetquot.

Is your son receiving any PT?

They look very promising and we are happy to have them .   Need that strength up front on Offense and defense.

Most of the starters on this year team are seniors, except for one, I believe. His name is Billy Tretor, OL. He's a junior and a beast. My son is a junior and they usually play the juniors in the 4th quarter. He plays both O line and D line.. He probably wont play this game against William Floyd, unless one of the line starters go down, god for bid!!!!

The average weight on the O line this year is 285 pounds. WM has some big boys up front and they are mostly seniors..
