A Stony Brook note as of today 12 players have committed to the Class of 2017 including a very good WR from New Jersey (I can't give his name out at this time) as soon as the Coaches tell me it's okay I will release all the names of all the recruits.

The WR you are talking about is on Twitter. Tay Hellams. 3* , great catch by SB.. Now. Do we have a QB who will throw to him????????

I like this kid Hellams.  Combines good hands with outstanding speed, from what I can tell.  Also, not shy about attacking the defense as a powerful blocker (especially for a WR).  See if you agree.

Hellams has great size. hands and speed. He somehow slipped through the cracks of FBS schools .. I see him as a first team all conference player in the CAA. We just need a good QB who can throw the ball to him....

We need a good solid QB  forget all the WR , running backs etc. Give us a player who can throw and manage the team and score points.  If this Fields then so be it  but don't go backwards again with 3 and outs.

Well, I guess we'll just have to agree on the fact that he's a man of many talent.  Here's an article which indicates that his SBU recruitment is based upon his playing OLB.  But, it does say that his earlier HS career played him at TE>

LOL.. Yes. I did see that he played TE as well. Maybe he should be labeled, "Athlete"

He committed in August however until the player posts it on twitter that's when it becomes public. Like I said we currently have 12 but only 10 have made it public and here they are;
Dimanche   Reidgee   OLB   6'2   215   Hamilton West   New Jersey
Hellams   Tay           WR   6'2   185   DeMatha Catholic Maryland
Lawson   Devan   TE   6'3   235   Spring Valley   New York
Nekhet   Seba           DB   5'10   170   Fort Hamilton   New York
Nunez   Kyle        OL/DL   6'3   308   East Islip           New York
Pringle   Randy   DB   6'1   165   Christ The King   New York
Reddock   Jabari   CB   5'11   160   Largo           Maryland
Stanbury   Oniel       Athlete   6'0   180   Erasmus Hall   New York
Tunstall   James   OL   6'6   305   Lackey           Maryland
Wilks    Selwin   DT   6'3   275   Erasmus Hall   New York

The problem with all these commits are that they are verbal only and will not become official until the 1st Wednesday in February when they can sign and a lot can happen between now and then especially if the coach who was recruiting them leaves and goes elsewhere
We are losing Sophomore LB Jake Carlock who is changing his major to Education and is transferring to a DII College so he can play right away

I'm sure you're closer to it than I am, but I just had some questions about your list.  I like to take a look-see at these recruits once they commit, but in searching many of them out I couldn't find where they announced committing to SBU (e.g. Stanbury, Wilks, Nekhet, Reddock, etc.).  In addition, James Tunstall's Twitter feed indicates that he committed to UCONN. I usually check Twitter, Facebook, 24/7 Sports and Rivals.com, but have had no luck in these cases.  Can you help me out?

The most important ab disturbing  thing you just wrote was losing Jake Carlock.. Holy cow. He was a beast for SB his past season.. It will be hard to replace a LB as good as Jake is..

The players that are on my list were on campus the last couple of weeks and I happened to be there and I heard from themselves however recruiting is a strange business that's why the coaches talk to the these players at least once a week right up to signing day to make sure they stay committed

When I met James Tunstall on December 3rd he said he was coming to SBU now on December 11 he said he's going to UCONN that's what makes football recruiting crazy and gives coaches one big headache and I haven't spoken to the SBU coaches which I will do sometime in January to find out who really is coming or who's not coming
