Terrific season. This team imo established that Stony Brook can play with anyone in FCS football, and compete with FBS teams.

Looking ahead the future is bright. The running game should still be in good hands with South player of the year (maysonet) coming back and a former NYS high school player of the year (Jevahn Cruz) patiently waiting. On offense we also return Essington, Gush, Norrell, 4 of 5 linemen, and all of our te's/fb's. This offense is going to be ready to roll next season! I think the D will only be better in their second year under Nevaiser, and there's definitely some young talent to build around.

In total we only graduate 6 starters. I expect next years team to get us our first FBS win, and get us right back into the playoffs.

I second that.  This will be veteran team returning in September alot of new guys  got plenty of playing time. . I know we have alot of talent in our redshirts  who will be moving up.   We should be in good shape for another run at the  Big South Title.

First off, I have no complaints at all about this season.

Something that hasn't been mentioned much, but we return 4 starting O-Linemen, plus we get Fernando Diaz to start next season.  I think behind that group, Maysonet is going to have a massive year.

I like the way Priore has been recruiting, and looking at the Big South, what we lose is relatively minor compared to Liberty, Coastal, etc.

Not to mention we return all of our tight ends and fullbacks who play a big role in our running game.

I really think the sky is the limit for this team next year.

Go Brook.

So I guess we can all agree that Stony Brook will be a force in the Big South for the upcoming year and we should be shooting for the NCAAs again. We will definitely be the favorites and depending on how well the Big South plays you may never know if we catch two bids... Okay let me stop, maybe thats going to far but I'm hopeful that the Big South continues to climb the ranks while we remain a member of it.

As I said before, SBU Football is here to stay. I'm already excited for the upcoming season. I'll be part of the alumni, another stage!

Don't forget about Masengo on D, assuming he's back in uniform. He's probably the only four star recruit ever in the Big South. Hopefully he's not prone to injury and not realize his potential (as was the case with Gowins), but he would be a beast at this level.

Great atmosphere at the Village Pourhouse on west 46th in NYC.  The bar was packed and erupted frequently!  It was so full i waited nearly an hour for a pitcher.

SB football, i think, is a big play team.  They cause turnovers, press the QB, and throw downfield.  It all sets up the wide open rushing lanes for big runs.  Cant give our OL enough credit.  Anyone see the size comparison between the two teams?  SB has NFL size averages on the line!

Loved that the SHSU fans talked trash all week and found themselves down 10-3 at half.  SB wasnt fast enough, big enough, smart enough, etc.  Turns out they were.
There are 29,413,039 corporations in America; but only one Chairman of the Board.

Liberty brought in there own four star recruit last year with Georgia Tech transfer Ryan Ayers, but I agree that he should have enough talent to be a significant contributor for us. We're going to need him to be fit and healthy because we have to replace Kirk and Nelson and he's our only option at the moment. Definitely the biggest question mark for next year is the interior defensive line.

Congrats on a terrific season. I'm looking forward to next year as it will be a true fight for the league championship. I'm glad the schedule swings back in LU's favor with you having to play @Coastal and @Liberty. Should be the first time since 2006 that someone will come into Lynchburg from the Big South and likely be favored to win the game. I’m interested to find out what week the game is, as we know it’s not the final week of the season because we play @VMI the final week.

No way... Why did they remove Liberty and Stony Brook game as the last game of the season?

We're also at Presbyterian which I think will be a tough game. Our three toughest conference games will all be on the road next year. I'm hoping we can get our first FBS win next season and take care of business against Central Connecticut State and Colgate so that we can lose one of those games and still have a case for an at large.

I've said it a couple times in various different message boards but you guys will be VERY good next year. You guys were young this year, and most/all of your impact players that returned this year weren't playing or weren't playing at 100%. You lose a couple big name players, but returning almost your entire starting D and offensive line more than makes up for the losses. And after playing the NEC champ as well as the number 1 seed in tournament, I feel safe saying you guys could have made some noise in the play offs this year.

Also it's unfortunate the Liberty Stony Brook game won't be the season finale.

I think a big indicator for where the program is will be how recruiting goes between now and signing day. Two big names to look out for are Stacey Bedell and Dalton Crossan. They are co-hansen award winners and both have a couple FBS offers. To sign either would make a huge statement that we can bring in great home grown talent without them first going to Hofstra.
