Yeah he did. But he would probably be an average player in the Big-10. But still a huge pickup for us and if we can continue to get higher-level recruits like Warney we will be a good team for years to come

I don't know.  But Gessell and Woodbury are Top 100 recruits.  SB doesn't get to sniff that level.  Yet.

Interesting data point-- SB's Kenpom rainking today is 55. After last night's win, wonder team Florida Gulf Coast is at a mere 90. Iowa is 22, so certainly no shame losing to them in their neighborhood.

If FGCU continues playing the way they have been they will be in the final 4.. Incredible!!!!. I always love it when  an underdog team beats a rank team !! You never know, SBB could do the same thing one day!

What should be the proper way to move up:

1) Stay in the America East and start recruiting at a higher level and getting talented recruits like Warney every year, getting to the NCAAs one or twice
and then move out and transition smoothly to the higher conference with a talented team

OR

2) Move out ASAP but not being able to recruit at the high-level of the future conference and potentially having losing teams for the next couple of years

Listen to these guys talk about how it's important to play strong teams to prepare for the Torney. This goes back to my point we need to either move up to a stronger conference or start playing strong teams in a non conference game consistently!!!

Now that's what you call a classy fan base. You don't see that around often. Good luck to the Hawkeyes in the next round. Iowa vs Virginia up next!

While skimming through the ESPN comments for the NIT game, all I saw were classy Iowa fans. My favorite comment by far "Stony Brook has played 10 guys so far, how does a small team like this even have 10 guys good enough to play in a game". I'm excited for next season and football season. We need to schedule a forum tailgate for the Albany-SBU football game.

me too, very classy, very very very few spammers.  unlike last year when baseball played LSU, which eclipsed the SHSU football fans from two years ago.  remember that?  "you aint ready".

SB was ready.

Iowa just beat Virginia in C'ville. The Seawolves played Iowa better than the #1 seed Cavaliers did.

Those were calssy no doubt. I agree 100%  that we need to play a moreupscale non conference schedule goin forward. Maybe not a  Michigan but teams like Butler, Dayton  maybe a Georgia Tech.  Get away from the Riders, and Fairleigh Dickinsons of the world. Harvard or any top shelf  Ivy  would help so would a few  strong  MAC teams.  Our new arena is coming which hopefully will attract some highr ranked OOC teams to  play us. It will help us in recruiting, fanbase and raise our profile.  We usually play a 13 game non conference schedule so beef it up with 6 or 7  strong programs.
