4. Stony Brook
The Seawolves do have a number of things going for them entering the new year – guard Akwasi Yeboah is the conference’s leading returning scorer and backcourt mate Elijah Olaniyi is a national star in the making.

Those two players will have Stony Brook competing in the top half of the conference, but outside of them, there’s a lot to replace. Five of their top eight scorers from last year’s team are gone, and head coach Jeff Boals is counting on several young players to replace them. Expect Stony Brook to have a shorter rotation this year and an offense that completely centers around Yeboah, Olaniyi, and Jaron Cornish.

Geesh. I just can't take any of these fringe sites seriously if they aren't doing the work. I don't expect a shorter rotation at all, do you? And Olaniyi is a national star in the making? Hey, I LOVE the kid as much as anyone but I'd love to hear where he heard that.

Pundits barely pay attention to basketball down at this level. Outside of the top 10 or so leagues it's really a crapshoot to find any decent coverage. Oh well. Come March everyone will know how good we are.

Seriously, I could come up with that sort of review just looking at who's coming back and who's not.  As a matter of fact, I could do that for any college sport.  Hope this guy wasn't paid much for this "in-depth" effort, as I didn't learn anything from it.
How old a Seawolf am I? I followed them during their Final 4 DIII hoops run in 1977-78 (they were called the Patriots then)

Olaniyi is a bad boy and people can't ignore it. He catches your eye on tape even if you just watch Stony Brook for 5 minutes. Good player with a big time ceiling.

That's the truth and he is still a sophomore .  This whole team is going to grow as the season goes on .  Two big tests early in George Washington and South Carolina .  Both teams are not unbeatable early on.

The two newcomers who are expected to make an early impact are sophomore transfer Jeff Otchere and freshman Miles Latimer. Jeff's length is something we have not had in my time here while Miles is extremely polished for a freshman.

Heilbron probably jumps for joy in his office after witnessing a practice.
Some of his other quotes

"Our newcomers are definitely going to make an impact. Freshmen Hassan Ceesay, Miles Latimer, Jules Moor and Alex Christie are all going to contribute, while junior college transfer Jeff Otchere is unlike anyone I have ever seen in the America East. A guy to watch is Chattanooga transfer Makale Foreman. He will have to sit out the 2018-19 season due to NCAA transfer rules, but he is going to be a force in the backcourt."

Sidebar: The coaching staff is extremely high on Foreman. We improve in the backcourt tremendously when he gets eligible even after losing Cornish to graduation according to all I've heard.

thanks!  oldseawolf guessed it exactly right a while ago... in this very thread.

now that that's out, my guess for the lineup is: mack, latimer, olaniyi, yeboah, otchere; yes, that's possibly two PGs depending on how you classify.  off the bench cornish/long, christie/ochefu.  not sure about garcia, ceesay, moor yet.

i think we can hurt teams with guys like cornish flying off the bench and running the ball.  just when they go for a breather, unleash him.

though i do like MD's prediction: latimer/olaniyi/ochefu/otchere/yeboah.  that's like a 2345 with an extra swing 3/4.  large.

can anyone here believe that thrower wouldve been a senior in this lineup?  seems like ages ago...

We out played Fordham the first 23 minutes of the scrimmage and then Youth kicked in. It was simply a matter of continuing to ball together and not go for self and not feel as if you can ease up just because you're playing well.
Biggest lead was 11 in our favor. Fordham ourscored us in the second half.  Standouts were Cornish,Olaniyi,Otchere,Lattimer.  Olaniyi I suspect will end up being our leader through his play and his words.
Lattimer's offensive game excites the staff. Otchere changed shots several times around the rim. Cornish danced to the lane while also making good decisions. Our upside as a whole is tremendous. The young fellas just need time to gel
