Andy Katz still has us projected as a #14 seed

Iowa State.... not a game we should win, but none of the upsets that happen in march "should" happen.

Looks to me like the match-up would be vs. Oklahoma, not Iowa St.  Even tougher, I suspect.  Too early to worry! Ha!  Ha!

SBU is currently #51 in the RPI. Just one spot away from being a top 50 team in an important metric!!

Notably, we're currently ahead of UCLA, Vermont, Hofstra, Furman, and other notable teams this year. This is likely to change by the time we play our next game, but I'll take it!!

That is very impressive. This team really deserves it this year. Hats off to Boals and his assistants for their recruiting and coaching.

What is helping us is that South Carolina is winning in the SEC .  Thats a team we beat early on .   Having an SEC team win can only help .

Is RPI going to be a consideration this year? I thought NCAA updated to new NET rankings.

https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-men/d1/ncaa-mens-basketball-net-rankings

Where our ranking is 132 and Vermont 86.

Other teams of interest:

GWU 279
South Carolina 133
Rhody 130
(L) Hofstra 56
Delaware 184

As season progresses, this ranking seems to be settling down after initial craziness.

Far and away our best one. They took down ranked Mississippi State last week, and with Kentucky being somewhat down they've got a chance to go on a run in the SEC. I'm probably underrating Tennessee since they aren't a traditional power, but yeah.

Power rankings? RPI has us at 66.

The South Carolina win is enormous for our metrics. They have one game against teams outside the top 100 RPI the rest of the way. A little help here, GW?

We can scrutinize all of it though, and it still comes down to a week in March.

We are getting absolutely hosed this year.

We are all the way at the bottom  :'(

I used to so obsessed with RPI and bracketology...still check all these rankings regularly.

But all those heartbreaking AE tournament losses prior to finally getting over the hump in 2016 taught me that three AE tourney games in early March is all that matters in one bid league. The team we have now is capable of winning it all. I see Vermont and us in the final. Hope we can get the home court.

Winning the AEC tournament is of course paramount but getting a crappy 15 or 16 seed virtually guarantees a smack down in the big tourney. (Ignore what UMBC did...it won’t happen again anytime soon.)
