Eric McAlister (Naestved-Denmark) 9 pts., 5 reb., 1 steal, 1 assist (14 minutes)

Yes, the curse has been lifted!!!! SBB will win the AE conference and make it to the big dance because we weren't chosen to win this year like previous years. As a matter of fact, not one expert even picked us... They picked Hartford.. But what!! Hartford??? Oh man, we are definitely making it to the dance this year!!!!!

Hartford gets the ESPN love because they have a starting lineup with 5 seniors.

I'm quite ok with this.  Preseason accolades mean nothing, I'm ready to see our guys prove themselves on the court.  The only teams that look dangerous are Hartford and Albany, and even Albany only has two real big men.

Regardless, you can never count Vermont out, and there is always a random team that comes out of nowhere.  Until we actually hoist the banner, I won't be celebrating.

That is fantastic news. I'm glad to have Dougher back in the team. This is exactly what our programs should be doing. Keeping them close and helping them grow as professionals. Gives a great example to current student athletes.

Stony Brook University, Island Federal Credit Union announce $7M partnership

Stony Brook University and Island Federal Credit Union have agreed to a $7 million partnership, giving the Hauppauge-based firm exclusive naming rights to the school's new 4,000-seat arena, the film festival at Staller Center and several other campus programs for the next decade, university officials said Tuesday.

Go and mention Stony Brook in the comments section. Just for fun... too many Saint Johns and Seton Hall fans there.

Warney is indeed a beast. SBU would be sitting in the middle of the AE pack without him. Much as his numbers would justify a look in the NBA draft, unfortunately I don't think he fits at that level. He doesn't have guard skills and at forward he lacks a 3-point shot. He'll do very well in Europe though.

If this was last year then yea, I would agree with you 100% however, Warney has improved his foul shooting tremendously this year and he is getting better with his field goal shooting from 15 feet away from the basket. If he can improve on defense as you say then he would have a chance at getting picked up in the NBA draft. All my opinion of course..

Just got back from the game today, tough win against a feisty UMBC squad.

1. Warney got doubled every time he touched the ball but did a great job passing out of those doubles- almost had a triple double!
2. Puriefoy is starting to break out of his cold streak- he still took some awful shots but played way better than he has in the last few games. Still too many turnovers
3. Sekunda has a deadly jumper. It's nice seeing him and Kam get more confident
4. Nyama is really emerging into a solid player, he's an athletic freak

Not expecting much against Albany- that game is gonna be a BIG test for us
