SBU voted Best Job in America East
« on: September 21, 2018, 11:55:11 am »
I hadn’t heard of WatchStadium but Jeff Goodman’s behind it so that’s enough clout for me.

The AE coaches weigh in. In short, we have a pretty good thing going here.

What part of “stony brook” makes it seem like it’s in the city??

Playing games in a big school’s arena and getting our asses kicked for $100K and TV exposure. I believe in some situations the coaches get a sliver of that too.

Was there ever any doubt we have the best jobs in the AE? lol

Ok. maybe I'm being too arrogant. lol. But we have a great university, facility, and support system that the coaching staff has at SBU. Even the location is great. No one in the AE tops this.

However, I do think that Albany does more with less. We have to change that. Our outcomes need to improve in the AE sponsored sports.

it's true.  five titles in this era, to one.  same with men's lacrosse- though it's more like 10 to 3.

Buy games can mean games where you take the paycheck to play a one off road game at the opponent and probably get killed (Michigan State in basketball last year, Air Force in football this year), *or* it can mean games where you pay a lower end D1 or D2 school to come to your place and do the same thing. I'd assume it's the former, and I don't even view those games as bad, but in any case we're #1!!

I'm just happy SBU (along with the other smaller conferences) are getting this kind of content written about them period. Usually it's all about the big P5 schools.
