Looking at the stat lines from the games in Europe the 3-pointer might not be an efficient shot for SB this year.

yep

1. Jameel Warney, Stony Brook

Here's what I had to say a couple of weeks ago on the subject of Warney: At 6-foot-8 and 255 pounds, Warney is a disruptive but low-foul shot-blocker who connects on 60 percent of his 2-pointers as a co-featured scorer alongside Carson Puriefoy. With an inside-outside duo like that, the Seawolves have a good shot at playing in their first NCAA tournament.

In his most recent game, an 81-54 win over Maine, the two-time America East Player of the Year posted a 12-12 double-double to go along with five assists and three blocks. He's not what you'd call automatic at the line (58 percent for his career), but Warney has Stony Brook atop the league at 7-0. If the Seawolves do make their first ever field of 68, Steve Pikiell's team has a legitimate shot at knocking off a higher seed.

so warney delivers on bobblehead night.

here's an NBA draft discussion from CBS:

Quote
•A few older players have stepped into the back-end of the 150. Stony Brook's Jameel Warney is undersized, but he's tough, rebounds the ball and could make an impact at Summer League like Alan Williams did last year.

"Last night, Jameel Warney had the best shooting night by any player w/18+ FGAs since 2010 @stonybrookmbb"

-College B-Ball Ref

Warney shot 88.9% from the field monday. The next highest field goal % with at least 18 shots was Frank Kamisky in 2013 when he shot 16 of 19.

Sekunda is out for the season with a torn ACL... UGHHH. That's all we needed come tournament time. Well, it's time for Mitchel or Nyama to step it up and start taking some long shots.

Tough break for Sekunda, and wish him the best for recovery heading into next year.

Seems to me SBU has been mostly fortunate over the successful run of this senior class, all things considered. Warney had hand/thumb trouble his soph year and I know Puriefoy had a nagging leg thing last year. No doubt a lot I don't know but with all that could go wrong, seems things have been not too bad.

I would hope that despite the loss of Sekunda that the two starters from last year are ready to step in and go. Best of luck SBU!

Getting some love from ESPN who thinks SBB could be one of five teams from non power conference who could make a run to the final four. Lets get past UA in the Championship game first!!

Agree  we must win at the AE level first. Final Four is a very long shot considering who we will be facing. I would be happy with an opening win and maybe a close game second game.
