New AmericaEast SBNation Blog
« on: October 18, 2011, 12:46:30 pm »
Hey all, check out

www.unrankedAE.com on SBNation. It's a blog dedicated specifically to America East Men's Basketball.

I'm Stony Brook's beat-writer. First post due up tomorrow morning for my pick for "Breakout Player" amongst those players who played for the Brook last season.

First SBU specific post on SBNation - ever

http://www.unrankedae.com/

Dave Coley - breakout player of 2011-2012

Admittedly out on a limb, but I see some real potential for him. Plus, this is what preseason's for!

I support picking Coley. I think it's a matter of time before he breaks out. (I seem to say that about a lot of guys on this team though)

Great story Redwyn.  Not sure if it's Coley or Jackson, but don't forget McAlister.  He is also a Soph., but because he redshirted a year, he may be a bit more mature/polished.  I really like his skill set, and if he can get consistent minutes (big question with Brenton playing a lot at the PF position), he could also surprise.....as others have said on the new AE blog, somebody needs to generate easy, open shots for Hayes, Bracey and Dougher, as I just don't see Dougher as a drive and kick PG........should be interesting!

I hope Bracey   plays like Chris Martin only bigger in size.  Any thoughts on the starters ?     I see two spots  that maybe open maybe 1 if Lenny Hayes gets the nod at SG.

I really don't know what to expect from Bracey. I've heard people say his built like a truck. He also has range on his jumper beyond three. Does anyone know what his game is like? It sounds like he could play 2, 3, or 4.

Sam Perkins from OneBidWonders said yesterday that Dougher, Hayes, Bracey, and Brenton are opening day starters, but there's currently some competition at the 5. He also mentioned that he heard Rapier has looked real good in practice so far, but I can't imagine him playing the 5.
