More to chew on: As I mentioned earlier, SB lost to a better, bigger/stronger more athletic opponent. However, there were also positives you can take from the game. Obviously the first 12 minutes showed that this team can play well at the highest level. Consistently doing this is the challenge. The bench is extremely deep, giving you 40 points. Rouse, Jackson and Rapier all gave you something, and Coley/McAlister will give you more usually. The key is getting the perimeter players off, and against that type of talent, it's tough. Again I stress that running Dougher off the ball to get shots will help, although there's not really anyone to play the PG when that happens. Jackson clearly can score, but he seems more comfortable looking for his shot than creating one for others. Also, Joyner and Rapier are clearly better posting up this season, and will find it easier in the conference. Carter's mistake hurt; not expected from a Senior. I wouldn't be surprised to find out he was retaliating for an earlier "love tap" from Zeller, but that's no excuse......I guess the 1 minute Mayo received says he is not redshirting, although I saw King on the bench out of uniform, so I guess he may be.
