great news for us, and also, perhaps a hope that declaring pro/portal is reversible.
There are 29,413,039 corporations in America; but only one Chairman of the Board.

Eek. Tykei's in the transfer portal as of this afternoon. It'd obviously be devastating. I have to think he is seeing these athletes getting paid and wants a piece himself.

So I'm not sure what to think of this but ... Tykei's in the transfer portal as of this afternoon. It'd obviously be devastating. I have to think he is seeing these athletes getting paid and wants a piece himself.

That sucks.  These players have such delusion of grandeur.  If he lands a P5 (or less), he'll be a bench warmer.  Wish him luck though.

Geno Ford cant hold anybody down from transferring out of SBU! I know it is the new norm as of late. but mainly for good players who aren't getting the playing time and want to be a starter someplace else. What is Geno's issue here?

To be fair, everyone has this problem. And I wouldn't be surprised that, considering he's entering the transfer portal so late, that he's already found a (better) landing place. Meaning, someone got into his ear and the move made sense.

I hope he comes back, but if he doesn't, best of luck, Tykei, and thank you.

I won't put this one on Geno. There's a lot of green grass out there. Every team is dealing with this stuff and there's no end in sight. I will say that it's been more of a two-way street than I thought. Noll, Clarke, Fitzmorris maybe, those feel like quality gets. But we're always going to be scrambling and selling the program to players already on the roster. Turnover is just a reality now. Now mid-season turnover? That was a first for me. I hope that doesn't become a thing.

With the ability to transfer as a graduate, Tykei would be stupid not to see what's out there. If he leaves, which I fully expect, all of a sudden we really have to wonder where the scoring is coming from. No Greene, no Roberts, no Jenkins, no JRod ... those are some big shoes to fill. Who's that guy at the end of the game? Or is it a mix? Can teams be successful that way? I feel like Policelli is a perpetual third scorer (and we need a good third scorer!). I don't think it's TSM. Noll, Clarke, Sarvan, that just doesn't seem realistic. Or is that top dog out there as a late signee? I will say that I don't like a bunch of secondary scorers trying to make it work in what has been an uninspiring offense the last couple years under Geno. You can definitely blame him for that.

Tykei removed from the 2022-23 roster online so that appears to be a wrap.

Only three players on our current roster scored a point for us last year—or about 20 percent of our production. Different world.

Policelli will have to look for his shot more the same is true for TSM clarke can score and then everyone else try to play team ball and play to their strengths. I expected this team to be middle of the pack mostly because of Geno. Policelli I believe was the second leader scorer his first year took a backseat last year because of the ball dominant guards. The transfer portal kills mid major teams but to have a starter leave this late is not great. Any other guys left in the portal I would stay away from ie character issues selfish players etc. Just roll with what our team is and try to build some chemistry 80 percent roster turnover every year you will never win.

Yup, I agree.

When this nonsense started a few years back I said it would be a horrible thing to allow students to transfer at will. Some people on this board argued the case and that all college athletes should have the ability to pick up and leave for another school. Well, The NCAA apparently agrees and now this is the fruit of your loins. This transfer crap is destroying all the schools outside of the Power conferences. Especially the schools where the coaches stink. Like Geno Ford....Be very careful what you wish for in life. It may come to fruition. Just like in politics. Tykei to Kansas State. That was the big carrot waved under his nose. Not sure how max of 12-15 mins/game off bench at KSU improves his chances of playing Overseas after this year.  These kids all have delusions of grandeur, but given current state of ncaa and the fact that they are still kids, it really doesn’t allow them to see big picture clearly.  Wish him well; he’s a really good kid.

I don’t think they’re after grandeur. He’s going to play some big time basketball and have an awesome experience. I don’t blame him one bit. Granted, the move is typical for those transferring out of SBU. Yes, it’s high major hoops, but it’s always for a bottom half team in their conference. Rutgers (then), Cal, Miami, Georgia, they’re all in that category. I’m curious to see how his game translates as a relative non-shooter and as he faces more competition on the boards. It’s a big step up from the AE. He works his ass off though, so I’m sure he’ll find some way to impact a game and be a solid piece for K-State.

LOL, another insurrectionist and conspiracy theorist. Dude, you find every opportunity to talk about this grand liberal conspiracy.

Two years later and despite the absolute lack of data backing up this ridiculous point, ya'll keep pushing this. Rudy Giuliani would be proud.
