I personally would love a group chat. Being a St. John’s fan, they have a group chat on Twitter called “Detes” and it’s always great to watch games and read the messages during it. Not sure if everyone has Twitter but would be a cool idea if createafourm doesn’t have a feature like that

We could use some free outside messaging systems like IRC, Twitter, etc., but I think that would defeat the purpose.  We have lots of great content here (legacy and current), and we wouldn't want to replace this forum or lead people away from it.  That said, I did some searching on the CreateAForuim.com site and came upon this link, where add-ons can be purchased.  They offer a one-time $30 option for a chat-room on this following page:

https://support.createaforum.com/upgrades.php

They have a Demo page for Chat, but it doesn't take my SBUfan forum login, so I cannot preview it.  I would want to see how it works and if/how it integrates with our current forum before buying, but if it was any good, I'd gladly cough up the $30.

Do the Admins here (CoB and ecasadoSBU) have the ability to preview the demo using their SBU logins?

EDIT: P.S. Sorry to be pitching this idea in this thread.  If anything comes of it, I'll start a new thread.

Thank you, Checkmate, and thank all of you, for allowing a West Coast Seawolf feel like he's back on campus again.

I wish I were more optimistic about the direction of the program, but I'm just not. However, I'll still be here on the boards, and I'm sure I'll still have unbridled excitement by the time Game 1 starts of next season.

I follow a couple of different boards and the ones with robust game threads are unbearable. There's a lot of emotion on the regular fan boards, but the game threads in particular seem to bring out the worst in knee-jerk, over-the-top reactions and criticisms. People say things maybe they wouldn't if not for getting caught up in the "now" of the moment. Personally, I find trying to type distracts from my focus on the game, but I've never been much of a multi-tasker.

No real news here but just closing the loop: No NIT and no CBI for us. No America East representation in either tournament. From the CAA, Towson (NIT) and UNC Wilmington (CBI) are still playing in addition to Delaware being in the tournament.

Just saw that Mo Diallo will be transferring out.  I'm not reallty surprised, as he certainly can't be pleased with the playing time he's gotten while at SBU.  With Nahar arriving on the scene next season, it was likely more of the same for him.  I wish him all the best.

Just hope it's not a prerequisite for a larger defection--GREENE, STEPHENSON-MOORE, POLICELLI and ROBERTS MUST STAY!!

The only reason I'm optimistic that those players won't transfer is because if they wanted to, they already would have done so by now. New Hampshire lost like 5 guys, Hartford lost a bunch, and I think NJIT and Binghamton both had one starter.

Hartford will lose basically their entire team because of the upcoming downgrade from DI to DIII, no doubt about it.

I thought Diallo was pretty athletic, but just made a bunch of dumb decisions on offense, possibly attributable to lack of playing time.  Wish him well.  He was a good soldier, who always seemed to root his teammates on.

That leaves us with the big 3: Green, Policelli, and TSM.  Really hope they all stay.  I think moving to the CAA (upward move) will have the effect of lessening their chance for transfer.  Roberts is going pro (he says), so he won't be back.

Maybe. Gueye was a very late entry to the portal last year if memory serves.

That said, if you went to them with the guarantee of 25-30 minutes a night for a CAA team, I have a hard time believing they'd do much better than that on the open market. Even Tykei. The question is, for him in particular, is 15-20 minutes at a high major school a more attractive proposition? Or pro ball immediately? A lot of viable options out there.

Bump to show current depth chart.

Still have some work to do on the recruiting front.

Who’s a PG in the portal right now that we could potentially have a shot at. Tykei TSM are more off ball Kaine and Pettway are unknowns.

Good question. Roberts probably isn't ready and trial by fire with Onyekonwu seems perilous. Plus, I gotta think that, with his contract coming up soon, Geno's going to want to find at least one or two sure-handed guards in the portal, especially with the jump up in competition.

It really is anybody's guess—so many guys out there and it really doesn't feel like proximity means anything. I'd take Sam Sessoms! He's on the move again after doing well in the B1G.
