It looks like Jameel has signed to play for a team in China.

Hopefully he is making some good $$, he deserves it.

I do hope he still gets more of a real chance in the NBA at some point...I'm no basketball coach or expert, but he looked good enough to at least warrant an even longer look.

Looks like this is a summer thing and doesn't preclude him from continuing in the g league next season/trying for the NBA? ...

Anybody that might have thought that Jameel's stats from his first game in China were beginner's luck should check out his second game:

40 min, 31 pts (64.7%), 11 reb, 4 assts, 2 stls, 1 blk

Another interesting stat is that in his first two games combined he has made 12 out of 14 free throws!  What more does this guy have to prove?!?!  ??? ???

Yes there is. This is why I've been saying for years SB needs to get out of this conference and move into a more respectable conference. The CAA, maybe not a huge leap up in SOS but is definitely a more respected conference than the AE. I wouldn't be surprised if UA and SB make the jump out of here together in the next couple of years..

I disagree with you guys.  There is some bias against Warney for his perceived shortcomings, and apparently there are enough scouts and big wigs around the NBA, that believe that these shortcomings exist.  We've seen guys from DII make it to the show.  At this point, 2 years removed from college, AE has nothing to do with it anymore, IMO.

Still, it sucks for sure, and I really hope he gets his shot this year.

Do explain your reasoning. If SBWLax  isnt enough reason to think AE conference is weak, then i dont know what to say anymore.

As it pertains to Warney. NBA GMs could not care less where he went to college.

I am not disputing that the America East is weak.

You guys are conflating Warney out of college 2 years and kicking butt in G League and not making an NBA roster with WLax team getting screwed with bad seeds due to AE inclusion.  Apples vs. Oranges, IMO.

If we're talking about Warney not getting drafted immediately out of college vs. WLax seedings, then we're getting warmer.

I don't think Warney not getting his shot at this point has much of anything to do with the AE given the amount of film available on him, however I do think we should be doing everything we can to get the hell out of this conference. In a lot of ways we've outgrown the AE and it's time to move on to bigger better things. Getting everything into the CAA (and perhaps having Albany tag along with us) should be our primary push right now. Hofstra can try to block all they want, but they alone don't have the votes for that. They have a lot of influence with the other members, but with Elon in the conference now, Hofstra not having football, and JMU having their eyes set on FBS, that influence appears to be declining. Push for the CAA. Hofstra be damned. They're stupid to be keeping us out like this.
