Let's see if we can prevent any kind of hangover after Saturday's win. It's a pretty quick turnaround, but hopefully we're up to the task.

While our prior foe, St. Francis, was unanimously picked to finish first in the NEC, LIU was predicted to finish sixth under first-year coach Derek Kellogg, formerly of UMass. They stand at 3-6, and of their three wins, two were narrow wins over Hartford (by 2 at a tournament in Jamaica, and then by 1 at home this weekend), and the other was against the College of New Rochelle. Otherwise, they’ve been in all of their games, with five of their six losses coming by single digits, including a four-point loss to now 10th-ranked Miami, during which they cut a 13-point halftime lead to two before running out of time.

LIU will have done well to come close to duplicating last year’s 20-win total, particularly after losing two all-conference players, including NEC POY Jerome Frink, to graduation. Leading the way in their place is Clark, who joined the team as a walk-on a couple years ago and played a bit role last year. He dropped 34 on Tulane to start the year, and another 26 on Brown. Hernandez, who missed all of last year with a back injury, has hit for at least 20 in three games as well. And Agosto was an NEC All-Rookie selection last year.

Coleman is one of two players that Kellogg brought with him from UMass. He was a pretty good recruit at Kellogg's previous locale – UMass – but was really hampered by injuries. He got his degree there and began to play immediately at LIU. The other, Tyrn Flowers, will redshirt.

This one feels like a toss-up. I think we’re starting to figure out what works best for us, with Cornish and Olaniyi really showing that they deserve major minutes and at least consideration for starts. We’ve yet to put up a W away from home, and this would be a good one for us.

Too painful to watch. Switched over to an ESPN running box score that I check occasionally, which is not much better....

this game reminds me of those harlem globetrotters vs washington generals games.  except both teams are the generals.

We were so lucky to have Woodhouse last year. We have no one who can match one third of his playmaking and decision making skills. Everyone is so carefree with the ball. Very disappointing so far. Agree with MoveitFred... it's painful to watch.

What's the rush every time we get the ball back. Slow it down. Making too many mistakes trying to speed it up.

I’ll join in on the pain parade, but not nearly as bad as Knicks tonight. No standouts for us tonight. Yeboah needs to play under more control and avoid the stupid fouls. Almonacy needs to play ahead of McKenzie who continues to unimpress and has bad habit of not keeping his head up on the dribble. Our interior defense pretty non-existent. Turnovers galore, yet we still have a chance to win this game.
How old a Seawolf am I? I followed them during their Final 4 DIII hoops run in 1977-78 (they were called the Patriots then)

Boals switched to Zone defense and it's better.

Very sloppy .  Let Mckenzie  sit out n the bench. No defense to speak of .   Columbia Thursday will eat us alive if we play like this.

ugly.  hopefully we bounce back and forget about this.  but this is one of those losses that can deflate a season, it was that bad.

do we practice shooting at all? (that includes field goals, threes, and foul shots)

Couldn't help myself and tuned in for the last minute. Ugh, terrible loss. Tonight SBU looked like a team that will battle the likes of Maine and Hartford for the AE cellar.

Squandered opportunity. Just too many turnovers and bricked free throws. I really hope we find a way to fix this because it feels like it’s costing us games.

Real tough night for UC. Didn’t shoot well and his fifth and final turnover was the dagger.

Strange night for Elijah after such a nice stretch.

LIU did a pretty good job getting inside the zone and finding shooters outside, or moving the ball. Big corner three by Hernandez to beat the shot clock at the end.

If Cornish is our best PG then we need make the switch now. Boals need to figure out who will start.. Cornish vs McKenzie vs Almonacy... and hopefully before conference play.

If I had to pick a starting  5 going into conference play  it would be Cornish , Olaniyi, Yeboah, Saintel and Sturdivant.   Secunda and UC  off the bench as 6 and 7 .  These guys can score and score quickly . Need a big improvement in free throws  but other than that  solid 7 man rotation .

I am quoting from the St. Francis game thread. But I think we should start that lineup
