Anyone know what’s up with Olaniyi?
How old a Seawolf am I? I followed them during their Final 4 DIII hoops run in 1977-78 (they were called the Patriots then)

watched the replay (as i was earlier on a plane trying to stream two games simulatneously).  great job that moor did by filling in for olaniyi.  garcia is good.

still too much foul trouble for our bigs.  i have to wonder right now if otchere doesnt fix the problem, he eventually becomes a bench player in order to reduce the exposure.

we got outboarded a bit but it's an A10 opponent.

we won this game with 6min left in the first, that's where we pulled away and it made all the difference.  but we kept up the intensity for all 40min. GO SB

I know he's been having trouble with his shoulder. It's been banged up since the scrimmage I think.

This team is much better than most people thought.   We shot something 87% from the stripe today and 45 %  from the floor.  We can score. defend and rebound with anybody . Great win today against another A10 Team
Even with today’s win they’re still not top 150. Another Holy Cross can easily happen so I would temper the optimism for now.
That HC game was a bit of a head scratcher...they did shoot the 3 pretty well against us and threw some nice back door passes while we looked a bit disorganized. Glad we put it behind us.

URI and SC were considered on the NCAA tourney bubble when the season started.  This is the most impressive start by a Stony Brook BB team ever.  Coach Boals seems to have done a good job attracting talent for the 1-3-1 style.  It’s early but what’s not to like?

If we only drop one game in the remaining OOC schedule, and then one in conference play, do you think we start appearing in those bracketology projections for an at-large bid in March? I wouldn't rule it out. We've gotten the impressive wins thus far OOC, and if we have a good record heading into March, anything can happen. Especially if the bubble is weak this year. There's a lot to be said for having a good record. I just want to see how well this team does in March, but I don't have all the faith in the world that we could take a BO1 against Vermont yet. Sucks being in a one bid league.

i think they look first to signature wins.  and our signature wins can lose a LOT of games over the next 3 months.  USC didnt look so good and netiher did GW.  and injuries.

I could only watch the second half on ESPN GameCast, but in the first half, an important sequence came when URI had gone on a 9-0 run to cut our lead to 32-30 in the final minute. Then Garcia comes up with a huge three-point play to stop the bleeding, and we get a stop on the other end. Boy has he proven to be quite the inside-outside threat.

Turnovers
First half: Stony Brook 12, Rhode Island 6
Second half: Stony Brook 5, Rhode Island 10
