The way we've played our first three opponents, I wouldn't rule us out of any game from here on out. This one's another challenge, but if some of these shots finally go down, maybe this is the first win of the Jeff Boals era.
Morsell, Adala Moto and Davis have played a lot of meaningful minutes for Towson over the past few years, including a year ago when they won 20 games, including 12 at home.
Like us, Towson has really struggled shooting the ball across the board – 41 percent from the field overall, 31 percent from three and 63 percent from the line. However, they've excelled on the offensive glass (averaging almost 11 a game). This is all consistent with last year's squad, which had a 43/32/67 split and big numbers collecting their own rebounds. If we can limit their second chance opportunities, that's a huge lift
We're all waiting for Iroegbu and Sekunda to break out of their funks. We know Sekunda is capable of knocking a few down per night. I'm hoping Iroegbu will soon see better days. He shot nearly 39 percent from three in juco last year.
Let's see what this team can do with a lead. They've been playing from behind all year to this point, and it doesn't feel like a team that's going to be great at catch-up.
Winner/loser of this game gets Robert Morris or Hampton.
Quick turnaround for the next one: 5pm tip Friday. Losers play 5pm Saturday; winners after that.
