#2 team in the country. Pretty cool.

Needless to say, we are drastically overmatched in this one. We don't have a single advantage anywhere on the floor, and I would not be surprised if we lost this game by 30. They have blue-chip talent, good shooters, high flyers, they're relentless on the glass, experienced, good leadership, the whole nine. It would be nice if we could leave East Lansing with our heads held high, having flown all over the court, not thrown the ball around and popped them in the mouth a couple times.

For the record, though, our worst margin of defeat in our Division I history is 55, when we lost 100-45 at fifth-ranked Auburn back in 2000. Shouldn't get that bad.

Bridges is one of the premier talents in the country. Big Ten Preseason Player of the Year, on the short list for the Wooden Award, and a certain high pick (ESPN has him going to the Knicks at 6: http://www.espn.com/nba/insider/story/_/id/20343849/2018-nba-mock-draft-michael-porter-marvin-bagley-luka-doncic-more). If you didn't see it, here's an excellent story on why he returned to MSU. Seems like an awesome kid and it makes me want to root for them this season. http://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/21275324/why-michigan-state-miles-bridges-decided-return-college

And yet Jackson may go even higher than him. He was a top 10 recruit nationally, and there's no reason to believe he won't be a one-and-done. He's a lottery pick in most mock drafts – unlike his dad, who was undrafted but played 13 years as a pro across a number of leagues.

Athletically, I'm curious to see Saintel and Olaniyi against these guys. I'm also curious to see how this PG situation plays out.

I think  Izzo keeps it respectable and they beat us  by 20-25 .  No way can we compete with these guys  given our recent history.  Just  saw Bucknell beating up Maryland  by 12 so far .  If that holds then we have our hands full again.  Anyway Mich St 85 SBU 63 .

Is Izzo the one of cleanest coach in NCAAB? I mean in terms of recruiting. He has a good reputation. Unlike some of the ACC coaches.

We are leading 25-17 :o

And we're 6/8 from 3. If we keep hitting these threes we'll keep it close. As was mentioned last week, being 33% from 3 is the same as being 50% from 2. So as long as we keep hitting them we'll be in business. The fact that we're not only leading but it's a competitive game at this point is a testament to this team and what we can do once AE play comes.

Sh*t! the power of Analytics. Basketball will never be the same. I didn't even consider this before

These high major games  are some invaluable experience for the players. AE teams would look smaller and easier to score on.

Win or lose. I love the attitude so far. Players don't look intimidated.

Wow, five seconds went by without a whistle. UC could be the most improved player this year.

Definitely having fun watching the first half.
Still don’t know why coach is giving significant minutes to McKenzie?  The kid would be better off at a lower division level.

McKenzie just needs more time. Almonacy looked lost in his first year. McKenzie will develop with time.

The game is close enough that we look like we belong on the same court with Michigan St. That's plenty good enough for me. If we can hang with these elite teams where there's no margin for error, imagine how much better we can play once AE play comes?? That's the value here and I'm very happy with how we've been competitive in these games even if we aren't winning them.

Can you stop with this? He's going to be an AE ROY candidate. It's also just rude. I'm sure the kids see this.
